njay Posted December 5, 2009 Share Posted December 5, 2009 Hi All, I am Nick from the netherlands after reading a while here and viewing some awesome cabs i wanted to do one myself to be honest electrical things are my thing so installing a pc monitor etc are no problems but working with wood i find diffucult my local woodshop is willing to make all the wood panels for the cab so backbox and the main box i call it my plans for a mini cab: 24 inch tft for the playfield 19 inch tft 4:3 for the backbox including dmd the cabinet needs to be big enough to fit a motherboard etc ofcourse i will go for a dual core setup with XP. it would be cool if anyone can help me out with plans for the woodworking including measeruements in centimeters thanks all ! *whoops posted under the wrong section should go to the hyperpin forums ! sorry* i will not post this double Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

That is a picture of my full sized cab with measurements. I also built a mini cab, and I will take a similar picture of it and add the measurements for you. Cab size from mine minipin (24" LCD for Playfield - 18,5" Wide for Backglas): Playfield: from front to back: 70cm front high: 18cm backhigh: 33cm Now you have the angle from my playfield - my 6 years old doughter like it too. from left to right: 41cm Backglas: high 40cm lengh 52cm deep: 12cm find me in futurepinballforum under "bigraceusa" too. I wood say, take this or a little bit bigger and you have what you want. And I say it again - build a "paperpinball" and you have a model what you need in wood. njay Posted December 6, 2009 Author Share Posted December 6, 2009 monitors are ordered i switched the acer to a philips 24 inch only bad thing it has a slight curve around the bottom. i included a pic is you people here says its going to be a big issue with the curve tell me then i will cancel my order pc is also ordered a friend solled me a cheap 20 euro 8900gtx card not a bad deal ! njay Posted December 7, 2009 Author Share Posted December 7, 2009 getting the vid card this evening, im working from home tommorow hehe because the monitors and the pc parts will arrive im just wondering because the cabinet only gets 70 centimers in width if the mobo will fit inside i guess it will. i will cut out a board to place the mobo and the pc stuff on and place that in the cab when its done. i called my local woodshop today and they agreed for some extra cash they will cut out all the wood panels for me ... so im waiting for the measurments from Rawd but all in good time , tommorow evening my project will be alive ! im doing the pc setup and software first pics to come ofcourse Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Please don't make the mistake that I make - don't build it first in the cab. That must be the last. I have build in first the some components (pc is outside 5m in the left, don't need a second) and then I begin with painting - become a little bit trouble. But I want play a little bit How much place you need for your display and the pc-components can you find out than you take a "midi-tower" - have you the place on the backside of the case, it is enough. You can test it fast and cheap with some paperboxes build a "paperpinball". When it is to small, you must give him a little bit more place. Rawd Posted December 8, 2009 Share Posted December 8, 2009 That GTX will run everything really nice. From what I remember, it is basically two 9800gt's put together. (My 8800gt runs things 'almost perfectly', but not quite. Some of the night mod tables run a bit slow when in multiball. Nice price too. I remember when they were $400.00. rosezentrier Posted December 8, 2009 Share Posted December 8, 2009 I have a LED-Backlight 18,5" LCD as backglas. Have install it normal. How looks that, have you seen in the threat of my pinball. Vertical for a 16:9 18,5" would be to small for me. When you connect 2 displays on your pc, you will see in FuturePinball that you must adjust every pinball for your playfield and of course for the backglas. The best for you would be, that you test it out by yourself (paperpinball can help:stupido2:). Only when you want to simulate a 3. display as DMD (I don't know how it's name) than vertical is a option. But for me a 3. physical display would be better for that.
