  1. Morning All, Just wondered if anyone can recommend an reasonable illustrator and/or printer located in the uk to help me with my new project based on a Pacland remake. Pictures of cab attached - as you can see it's not too far away from needing artwork (on going I hope to do this for a living) ! If anyone out there can help - please get in touch, have most of the information including samples of the artwork style I would like to use ! i don't think too taxing but a fair bit of illustrator work ! Many thanks Dogman !
  2. Hello Spinners & Pinners, It's been all good since the VPcabs debut on Shark Tank this past May. Brad Baker from VPcabs was hired by Universal Studios to create a stand-up Vertigo arcade 'Back to the Future' themed machine for Michael J. Fox's Parkinson Disease Foundation. I got to design the entire build with licensed artwork from the movie. What a great project to be part of! Ebay posted the auction, all the proceeds from this event went to the charity. It was showcased with the actors Fox, Christopher Llyod and Lea Thompson at the Chicago Wizard World convention this past summer. The design was so well received from Universal that a second matching virtual pinball machine was commissioned. Also designed by me. The brother and sister set look the part and have been a popular design for BTTF fans all over. If you have an idea for a project or would like something totally all your own please let me know. I'm always looking for something super cool and one of a kind to work on. Thank you, all the best! 3. Hello Spinners and Pinners, Wow what a hiatus for me. Sorry I haven't been around much lately. It's good to see people still making machines and sharing ideas. This website is still my favorite to get a pulse on custom arcade machine builds. I do still answer emails and contacts so please if you need anything let me know. Keep up the excellent work! VPcabs out of Ohio is going to be on Shark Tank next month. As you can imagine Brad Baker's 3 year journey to get to this point has been a long haul (literally). His annual visits to arcade shows throughout the country has been a lifeline to what Hyper Spin and Hyper Pin represent. Good old arcade fun in a new age cabinet build. I'm fortunate to have been the designer dude for all his commercial free artwork during this trek. It's been keeping me incredibly busy. I can't wait to see my logo I designed for his company on television. Wow, my design work on tv... wait a minute I've been doing designs that have been on tv for 20 years?? Never gets old VPcabs has brought to market a new stand-up arcade cabinet called Vertigo. It plays both classic arcade games as well as Steam Pinball FX2 pinball games. It's a great design to house both formats into one machine. It's been selling lot hot cakes and makes us feel good that old school and new school arcade gaming is alive and well. Check out VPcabs new website: www.virtualpinball.com I'm still making designs for clients all over the globe. It's been a busy past few years and wouldn't be fortunate to have done so without the good people of this community. I'm lucky to have been part of so many projects. I just needed to give everyone hear a tremendous shout out and let you folks know I'm still in the biz of getting custom ideas brought to life for our community. I worked with BBB on the Hyper Pin 2.0 project. We created a fantastic new logo and I'm anxious to see it's debut. I look forward to a resurgence in our gaming community and hope more and more people will visit and keep this community strong especially with the exposure VPcabs will bring to a larger market in the coming months. Big shout out to Lucian045; my good friend Brad Bowman is still my main man in the print world. Out of the 100+ design projects I've designed they have all gone to Brad. His work and attention to detail are second to none. I've always admired his positive attitude and ability to get the best possibly product to clients all over the globe. Also big shout outs to Dazz & Mameman. It was a blast to see them again at another Texas Pinball Festival last month. I really enjoy playing old school pinball machines. I love seeing all the different designs through the ages. Especially playing games I hadn't in the past and also all the newest arrivals like the Big Lebowski and Stern's Ghostbusters. Although my all time favorite is the new KISS pinball. I'm still a member of the Kiss Army! A few pictures of some recent work and some shots from this years TPF. Please contact me if you'd like to hire me for your next project. I hope to continue having fun getting your ideas onto cabs all over the globe. Much like my career in broadcast television it never gets old. Thank you. All the best! Respectfully yours, Josh http://www.jwgfx.com

  5. Hi, My husband and I own a small cabinet shop. Recently We've reseived an email from some software developers offering us the app for designing cabinets and calculating the price of a kitchen. It is called Online 3D kitchen constructor http://prodboard.eu/kitchen/ I know that it's a good point that we should use a program to help us in our business, and it seems quite a nice solution, a rental program, by the way, but who knows. So I would highly appreciate if you could give me some advice on this particular software, whether it is worth paying for. Thanks in advance,
  6. Hello Everybody, I'm turning an old royal Video (Neo Geo) Cabinet into an modern design Cabinet. I bought this cabinet 10 years ago and left it at my parents house. It has been dead for a few years so i decided to make it a hyperspin cabinet. I want it in the livingroom but my wife wasn't very happy about that. To make her a little bit happier I want the cabinet look like an eames design chair. Wood on the outside and and black. So i bought black buttons and removed the bezelart and tinted the glas over the monitor black. Put in an old 22" crt vga monitor i got for free. A xin - Mo decoder and new black buttons. I bought a secondhand pc with a i7 2600k 3.2Ghz Processor and a nvidia GT530 2GB.2 external USB ports on the outside and extra buttons on the side for pinball. I made a new marquee of plexiglass 5mm printed with black and white with the hyperspin logo. Next step is to make the joystickpanel black with vinyl and but the black buttons in and i ordered wood vinyl for the side of the cabinet. I wil post new pictures when i'm done. Regards Leo (CenobiteNL)
  7. Latest project pictures: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi all, since I was a kid i've been facinated by arcade machines. Once I grew older and got a job I've always wanted to buy an original arcade cabinet. However, time flew by and money was short so I never got to buy one. Recently I discovered hyperspin and the urge to get myself an arcade cabinet got bigger and bigger. As time whent by I met myself a girl and got married. She doesn't like the looks of an arcade cabinet so the final option I've got to get my dream is to build one myself that my wife doesn't find "ugly". I will be posting the progress here and when I'm finished I'll try to make some tutorials and maybe even a new global theme. Since I'm a graphic designer and not so good with hardware and powertools I might also be asking for some advice along the way. Last week i've sketched something in Adobe Illustrator that was inspired on some designs I found on the internet. It suits my needs and also my wife's. I've also learned how to use Google Sketchup and started to draw out the cabinet in Sketchup. Doing so lead to some questions. But before I ask them this is what i've got so far: I ran into one issue whilest designing this cabinet in sketchup: since I'm using angles and have no miter saw for big boards (70cm x 18mm x 90cm) I will be having gaps. I was thinking to fill them with woodfiller then sand and paint them so they look like one part, would that be a good idea ? Cheers and untills soon.

  9. Hello Spinners & Pinners, I've been busy with a cool graphic design project, my client wanted matching sports themed Chicago Blackhawks designs for his pinball & pedestal machines. I worked with both VPcabs and Dream Home Arcades to custom match all the decal sets for both projects. The goal was to have a 'brother & sister' type design motif for both cabinets. I made similar custom logos for both cabinets and reoccurring design elements for both layouts. The end result is a very cool and modern looking sports game room experience. When both machines are showcased with matching color, quality and attention to detail the proof is in the pudding. I hope to see them together someday in all their glory. What a great project! Thank you Steven for working with me to bring your idea to life. Also thanks to Brad at VPcabs & David at Dream Home Arcades, it was a pleasure working with both of you and your companies. Thanks for checking out my work. I have many other design builds in my albums to check out for pinball, standup, marquee, bartop & pedestal designs. If your interested in having some custom artwork design work for your projects please send me a pm or email. Thank you, all the best! Josh http://www.jwgfx.com
  10. Hello Pinners, I have another batch of graphic design work for our members. I had the good fortune of having some classic design themes to work on this past fall. One is the popular Star Wars universe and another wanted to embrace and pay tribute to the Nintendo 64. Also Glympse Legacy is a software company wanting to have a fun pin cab at their headquarters for their employees to enjoy. All these sets came out great and I appreciate getting to bring these cool ideas to life. Pin Wars wanted to have the look and feel of the original Star Wars movies. We sprinkled in some newer items but stayed close to the origin of Star Wars. I'm really liking the balance and colors used to showcase some of the popular events of the first 3 films. The layout and overall sense of the characters and pinball works out great. Pinball 64 really was a fun project for me. It was a trip down memory lane. We wanted to pay tribute to so many titles that we incorporated screen shots into monitor formats and scattered them about the cab. Many different layouts and balance for all decals on the build. Star Fox looks awesome up top and I like having characters to add to balance out the video game screen feel to make for a family fun design. Glympse hired me to custom design the artwork for one of Brad Baker's VPcabs pinball cabinets. I designed a theme based on a GPS like system (the Glympse software) and a Seattle look for their headquarters. We made two different tops to show off Seattle's beauty with the space Needle and Mount Rainier. I really love the blend of the company logo and colors and scenes for their cabinet. Thanks Stephen! Thanks for checking out my work. If your interested in having some custom artwork please send me a pm or email and we can see what we can't come up with. Thank you, all the best! Josh www.jwgfx.com
  11. Hello spinners, I just completed a stand up arcade cab design I wanted to share. The client had an interesting challenge in that he wanted to recess the Predator skull on the sides of the build. Add some LED lighting and he ends up with a pretty sweet Predator design. Attached are some pics of the design build. Vince was a great client to work with and provided me with some time saving Photoshop and Illustrator files to hit the ground running. The Side sample panels show the inlay skull design that will live behind the side panels. A circular hole will be cut out to recess the skull with illuminated LED light to pop the design on both sides. The Predator Control Panel was based on the client's design layout. Originally the design was supplied to me as a space themed controller but we changed to the ancient alien Aztec look instead. I found a great Predator movie title font that gets juxtaposed with the Mame classic arcade game text treatment. Put it all together and we get a great looking Predator tribute with some very cool contrast of color and balance. Great project, thanks Vince! If you’re interested in doing an arcade cab or any other design project please PM me about your ideas. Thank you. All the best! Josh
  12. VPcabs hired me to design their new company logo. After we settled on a design they wanted to re-introduce their new company logo so they decided to skin cabs in both P2K and Standard body cabinets with it. The use of color and logo design is used to premiere the VPcab design to the masses and extend the marketing identity of the brand. I made some 3D rails and decided to go with a carbon fiber background for all the decals. This design approach makes for a great presentation of the company to people unfamiliar with virtual pinball. Please check out my galleries for these and other designs for Pinball, Bartop, Arcade standup & Pedestal style cabinets. I also offer logo design and pretty much anything else you may need from the design world. If you want to own one of these machines with this design or any of the other offerings please visit this post by Shakenbake: http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/sh...pening-Special You can also see this design as a completed cabinet at Brad's website: http://www.virtualpinballmachinesrus.com/ Please keep a look out for the other 5 designs. Thanks for checking us out, all the best! Josh
  13. Hello spinners & pinners, My name is Josh White and I've been making some custom Pinball cab designs for members. I started with Dazz's Twilight Tribute HyperPin 2125 at the Texas Pinball Convention in March this year. Since then I've done a few more designs and wanted to offer my services. I'm a broadcast senior graphic designer with 18 years’ experience in design for tv, print & web. I've got my BFA in Art at the University of Rhode Island and started working for NBC out of college. We moved around the country a few times and now our family lives in Texas. I love making design work for people. This venture is a true calling back to my roots as an artist learning about Art History and making creative design work. TV pays the bills but this is more fun! I’ve been offering a 20% discount for gold members. I charge $25 an hour and send samples throughout the build. We start with the basic concept then get going on the elements needed for the cab. I can design standup arcade machines as well. Marquees, instruction decals, control panels, the whole deal. I'm quick with all the programs designers use today. I run both Mac & PC at home. 2D, 3D - all the Adobe stuff. I have tons of experince in digital design which saves you time and money. I'm working with Bowman Signs in Connecticut, all my designs have been printed by Bradley and we are working on creating some generic design cabs that can easily be customized and made to spec. His shop is second to none and I enjoy seeing his prints on member’s cabs, they look outstanding! Please check out my work and let me know if you'd like to hire me for your next project. Thank you, all the best! Josh
