LaunchEmuBox (or EMUbox) ???

	Hi !

I got a config using Hyperspin, Rocketlauncher and a little something called LaunchEMUbox (seems like a port from Android through Electron, if that rings a bell), located inside the HyperSpin folder

All this works great. Thing is, when adding a new game in RocketLauncher, all goes well and I can run it from there, but this LaunchEmuBox seem to have its own little pesky database which does not seem to get updated (and therefore, my new ROM does not appear in the final wheel) -- I tested this by renaming the .db from LaunchEMUBox and of course, no ROMS appear under the system chosen (MAME in that case).

I assume someone knowing this ill smile at my noobness. Please help: How do I update this .db to reflect what I did in Rocketlauncher? Thx!!!!

here is the directory of this EmuBox thing

	Hello Everybody!!
It seems that I'm a newbie here but not a newbie to forums in general.
I have two questions and I'll ask them in different threads since they aren't related.
I've looked through the existing posts and can't find what I'm looking for.
I'm recently making the move from Game-EX and some things are similar, but some things are very much different.
So with regards to Hypersearch, I would like to be able to search my entire library of emulators for a game and then have the ability to add it to a main menu favorites menu. Hypersearch seemed to be the go to choice but I'm having no luck getting it configured correctly. The videos and instruction I'm finding are from years ago and don't seem to apply to the current revisions. PieTie put it together and I downloaded it, but for the life of my I can't get it to work. The one that is keeping me up at night today is that Hyperspin is unable to find the Hypersearch.ini file. I'm sure I can get past this with a few more hours of trial and error, but I thought I'd be lazy since I've already wasted over a week trying to get this to work. My wife notices when I come to bed at 2am because I lost track of time... (She is not amused...lol)
Is there another search feature that can be integrated into Hyperspin / RocketLauncher other than hypersearch that will do what I need?
If not, can anyone point me in the direction of any newer documentation that might apply? I'm ready to pull my hair out, but not ready to go bald just yet.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. If you have a pinball table that is acting up, I can probably help you with that. lol
Thanks again!!

So I've been trying to set up some AKI No Mercy mods (WWF Legends/ WCW Starrcade/etc) through RL/HS. Has anyone had any success with getting it to launch correctly and load the textures? The mods I've been having issues with are the ones that use Project 64 1.6, I've been able to get project 64 2.1 working for the most part. Any advice is appreciated.

Hey guys, decided to take this weekend to update a few emulators on my main emu machine. Looks like RocketLauncher UI isn't playing very nice with the latest release of MAME64 (0.227). The error message I'm getting from hyperspin has to do with making sure the correct version is installed and checking the AHK file. Any suggestions on how to modify the existing AHK file to work with the new version of MAME64?

I have been following YouTube tutorials on how to set up the PlayStation 2 Emulator, so far I have got the emulator set up and working, I also tried to setup the PlayStation 2 system in Hyper Hq using the setup wizard. I followed the video and it went on to show how to use Rlauncher for setting up the emulators.

I have Sony PlayStation 2 in my media folder and I have put a xml file of the data base from Hyperlist into the Database folder.
I am struggling using Rlauncher, as you can see in my screen shot that I can't set the default Rom path and that the thing won't let me set the default emulator ( almost like it doesn't want to work) When I select the PlayStation 2, the global emulators don't load in the box when you press the magnifying glass

Okay mine is acting very strange....

Daphne works for both Space Ace and DL. These will be the only two I'm setting up.
Works in the DaphneLauncher. However through Rocket, I get a black screen and I can hear the game running through the startup and attract mode... But just a black screen...
Read through the 7 pages of questions and answers. Seen some talking about opengl.
I made changes for that in the global, no luck. set to false on fullscreen, no luck. tried disable hardware accl.

Everything I've tried hasn't worked and I'm wondering what the heck I'm doing wrong...

The crazy daph log has some weird entries:
WARNING : You have specified an abnormal screen resolution! Normal screen resolutions are
NOTE: converting FPS from 23.976000 to 29.970000. This may be less accurate.

	Anyone have any ideas please??

	THANKS SO MUCH!!

Cinematronics Inc. was founded in 1975 by Jim Pearce, Dennis Parte and Gary Garrison in El Cajon, California, although early on Parte and Garrison sold their shares to Tom "Papa" Stroud. Cinematronics' first games, a Pong clone, a Flipper Ball copy and their first original game design, Embargo, were released in 1975, 1976, and 1977, were not particularly notable. The company really began to prosper after the Space Wars game came into production about a year later.

...

In 1983 Cinematronics released Dragon's Lair, one of the first laserdisc-based arcade games. In order to finish the project they partnered with Advanced Microcomputer Systems (later renamed RDI Video Systems), who later tried to sell a home version of the laser-disc machine. While RDI's home console, the Halcyon, was a failure, the Dragon's Lair arcade was a huge success. Cinematronics followed it up with the similar sci-fi-themed laserdisc game, Space Ace. In about 1983 some prototype animation material for a Dragon's Lair sequel was produced, but due to the lack of an agreement between Cinematronics and the animator, Don Bluth, this material sat unused for years, eventually becoming part of the Dragon's Lair II: Time Warp game in the 1990s.

Your hardware requirements:

At least a Pentium III 500 MHz machine or equivalent (These days, most people have something much better.)

Windows, Mac OSX, or x86/Linux (this covers almost everyone)

One of the following:

(Strongly Recommended) One or more Digital Leisure DVDs to make Daphne easier to use.

(Not Recommended, Expert only) ROM Image files and one of the following:

(Not Recommended, Expert only) Video, Audio, and Frame Files

(Not Recommended, Expert only) A real laserdisc and a real laserdisc player

Ok, Let's get started!

I will assume that you already have all of the appropriate media in which to install the emulator and the games onto your computer. The Daphne emulator consists of two programs, DaphneLoader and Daphne. Daphne is the actual emulator and DaphneLoader is a front end that uses Daphne and give you a nice GUI to make changes to the config. As just about every thread out there says, "Do not try to launch DaphneLoader through your HyperSpin or HyperLaunch setup." Daphne.exe is the actual emulator. That said, you do need DaphneLoader to get things setup and to configure game specific settings.

I would highly recommend you get the supported CD/DVD media for the supported games. If you have the media for these games, DaphneLoader will download and keep up-to-date the audio/video files directly from Digital Leisure.

Daphne dowload and setup:

Navigate to the Daphne home page: http://www.daphne-emu.com and download the latest version of Daphne (daphne-1.0v-win32.zip). Once it's downloaded create a new directory in your emulators directory. Mine is located at "C:\Emulation\Emulators|Daphne". Many other people use "C:\HyperSpin\Emulators\Daphne". Open the Zip file and extract all the contents into your ...Daphne directory.

The first time you run DaphneLoader it will update itself. Please click "OK".

Once the update is finished you will see this:

For this example I will install Dragon's Lair from the DVD-Video Version using DaphneLoader. Click on Dragon's Lair and click the "Start!" button. You will see the Warning dialog box explaining what disc's you need to play the game.

Insert the appropriate disk in your drive (or mount the disk image) and click the "OK" button. You will see the Video/Audio Files Needed dialog box. Click "OK".

DaphneLoader will now download the most up to date audio/video files and install them into your ...Daphne\vldp_dl\lair directory. This process will take a while (depending on your internet speeds), so go grab a cup of coffee... beer... or what ever your poison is and wait.

Once that process is complete, you will be asked to validate your media. Click "OK" and let the process run.

DaphneLoader will then start converting your files. Go refill your coffee... beer...

Once converted and validated, you will get another update screen. Click "OK"... again....

"Game is ready to begin." Click "OK" and hit a key to parse the video files:

Finally! The game will launch and you can play!!! Close out the game and continue on with installing the other games you want.

The download process will give you a framefile that is needed to play the game. I recommend copying the framefile to the ...Daphne\framefile directory. In this example it's called ...Daphne\vldp_dl\lair\lair.txt

Again, copy the framefile into the framefile directory for each game and name them like this (so they match the database in HyperList):

As everyone will first ask when replying to Daphne problems, "Make sure all the games are working in DaphneLoader first!".

If you have downloaded the games, make sure all the audio/video files, framefiles and rom files are included. The framefiles must match up to the audio/video files and you must have the matching roms also. The directory structure should be like this:

Framefiles: ...Daphne\framefile

Roms: ...Daphne\roms

Audio/Video in their own directories: ...Daphne\vldp_dl

My example:

Framefile: C:\Emulation\Emulators\Daphne\framefile\lair.txt

Roms: C:\Emulation\Emulators\Daphne\roms\dl_revf2.zip

Audio/Video: C:\Emulation\Emulators\Daphne\vldp_dl\lair

Now, to make changes in your per-game config:

Most people will not need to do this, but some may want some default changes to the way a game plays. With DaphneLoader open, select the game you want to make changes to. Click the "Configure" button. Make any appropriate changes you would like in any of the tabs except the Input tab. Make sure and Enable the Display command line option in the Advanced tab before you hit "OK".

Now, click the "Start!" button and the command like window will appear first:

Pay close attention to the two bank settings. Mine shows "-bank 0 11111001 -bank 1 00100111". Write these down or save them somewhere for use in HyperLaunchHQ. Click the "Cancel" button and make any changes to the other games you have installed. Record those bank settings for each game as well.

The last thing we need to do before we start the HyperSpin setup, is to make a minor change to the framefiles.

Open each framefile in your favorite text editor and put the full path to the audio/video directory. Example:

Original:

.

151 lair.m2v
Modified:

C:\Emulation\emulators\Daphne\vldp_dl\lair\

151 lair.m2v
Save the modified file and test it again. Go back to DaphneLoader and Start the game again. Make double sure it still runs.
All the other games, or if you have the A/V files and framefiles:

For the games that do not require CD/DVD media, or if you have downloaded all the Audio/Video files and framefiles from a different source, here is how to set them up in DaphneLoader.

For this example I will use GP World. Select GP World in the list and click the "Configure" button on the right. In the Game/Laserdisc tab, click on "Configure Laserdisc":

Under the Virtual Laserdisc Player Options, change it from "Yes..." to "No, I will install...". This will give you an additional option to browse to your framefile. Click the "Browse" button and navigate to your ...Daphne\framefile\gpworld.txt framefile and click "Open":

Hit the "OK" button and hit "OK" again on the Configuration window. Click on "Start!" to test the game. Let it parse the video and that game should be done.

Do this for the rest of the games you have available.

We are ready to bring up HyperHq!

Daphne and HyperHQ config.

Launch HyperHQ and add your Daphne wheel. Once the wheel is added, click on Wheel Settings and choose Daphne in the wheel drop down. Make your changes like this:

Now close out HyperHQ and open up HyperLaunchHQ. You will have to setup your Global emulator for Daphne. Select GLOBAL on the left. Make sure the Emulators tab is selected and scroll down to Daphne (not Daphne Singe, see the top of this post for a Singe link) and double click on it. Set your Path to the daphne.exe as seen below:

Close that window and click on the emulator Daphne on the left. Make sure the Emulators tab is selected and set your Rom Paths to your ...Daphne\framefile directory. Set your Default Emulator to Daphne as seen below:

Now, click on the Games tab and hit the blue "Audit All the games..." button and your installed games should show up in green. Go ahead and select lair and click the "Launch..." button to test:

All your games that run in Daphne should now be setup in HyperSpin and HyperLaunchHQ!!!

There are two game names that do not match between the RL Daphne.ini settings file and the HyperList xml file.

Cobra Command and Road Blaster. If your Audit list shows cobra and rb in red, the easiest way is to fix the game names (hopefully this will be updated sometime) in your ...HyperLaunch\Modules\Daphne\Daphne.ini file.

Find the file in your HyperLaunch instillation and edit it in your favorite editor. Scroll down and find the game setting tag called [cobra]. In the HyperList xml file it's called cobraab. I copied the entire [cobra] section and pasted it below. Changed [cobra] to [cobraab] and did the same for [rb] to [roadblaster]:

Save the file and I then re-ran the audit and all the games show green! "Super Green!"

One last thing. Your per game settings!

While you still have HyperLaunchHQ open, click on the Emulators tab. Click on the "Edit Global Module Settings":

Click on the "Rom Settings" tab. Scroll down and select lair. At the bottom of this screen you will see two boxes: bank0 and bank1. Look back at your command line notes for lair and make them match:

Close that window. Close out HyperLaunchHQ and bring up HyperSpin.

Enjoy!!!

<EDIT>

Djvj has edited the Daphne.ahk module for RL to allow for per game control changes. Please see this thread:

Hi guys been working on a module for RocketLauncher that works with the C64 Forever 7 program. Today I released a working module for all your C64 Forever games and applications (.RP9) collection that you can launch with RocketLauncher. Bezels are implemented but not working correctly at this time so for now you might want to leave bezels disabled for this module in the RLUI. I have included some display, audio and hardware options that you can change within RLUI for the module as well without having to go thru the C64 Forever 7 interface options.

I plan on working on the Amiga Forever 7 module next.

	Enjoy!

Need Help.

Hello, I have a CRT arcade monitor hooked up for my setup and I want to add systems to my wheel. When I launch Rocket Launcher the window size is so large I cannot see everything I need to. There are also no scroll bars. Is there a workaround for this? All I can think of is to use a second monitor but the setup with the CRT is so finicky with that getting the other monitor off is always a problem. Also if you don't know already can't change the resolution with the CRT or it goes bananas. Really hung up here so any help is greatly appreciated. Maybe there is a way to make the RL window resolution smaller? Or scroll somehpw? Dying to get some Turbo Grafx setup. Thank you for your time.

I am having difficulty modifying the Fusion Module in RocketLauncher to set the multi tap type for each 4-Player title so that when I select these 4 Player games in Hyperspin, it will automatically recognize the correct multi tap control setting for that particular game (whether its 4 Way Play, Team Player, J Cart).

I set Controller_Reassigning_Enabled to true in the Fusion module ini.

The setup to define the multi tap type and controller settings for each game via the RocketLauncher UI seems very straight forward, but just. Isn’t. Working.

Not sure what to try next. When I open the games separately just using Fusion outside of RocketLauncher and Hyperspin, everything works fine if I select the proper multi tap type in the controls settings.

I just can’t seem to get RocketLauncher to do that for me by editing the Fusion.ahk

	please please please help!

I have the latest version of RL and Hyperspin and i just added Visual Pinball (specifically VPX) to my setup. I need to bind my side pinball buttons to different buttons on my control panel so my kids who have short arms can play pinball. I've setup Visual Pinball in Hyperspin and Rocket Launcher, and it loads my games just fine from Hyperspin or directly from Rocketlauncher. I created a profile for the Emulator (in this case Visual Pinball 10) and created my two hot keys. I clicked the green lightning button in RocketLauncher keymapper to test if it worked, and i'm able to see my hotkeys work properly in that test window that pops up. Then I click to launch any one of my pinball tables, and the hotkeys no longer work. I've tried this through Hyperspin as well as directly from Rocketlauncher and neither worked. I went back and created profile for the system, that didn't work, so then I tried a profile for a specific game, and still nothing. Is there anything I may be overlooking? I also followed the instructions found in the link below. Any help would be great. Of if there's a better way to accomplish this, i'm happy to try anything.

	http://www.rlauncher.com/wiki/index....F_and_similar)

I even tried to leave that test window open and launch Visual Pinball manually without rocketlauncher or hyperspin and that actually creates an issue with the flippers. One side will get "stuck" in the up position while the other side won't function at all. This goes away once i close that test window and restart the application.

Possibility to keep the last number of required temp unzips rather than yes or no to clear temp folder in Rocketlauncher......

I finished this today. It enables you to keep the last 5 unzipped games per system. Really useful for games that are large and take ages to unzip. This stops you wasting hard drive space as it only saves the 5 most recent. It also deletes any empty folders in that temp folder too.

Take a look here for more info and the script.

I had retroarch working before with RL PAUSE, then I did a bunch of work on shaders and shader borders and overlays to really get things looking super nice. Then realized that RL could probably not do PAUSE over a fullscreen retroarch with it's overlay. So I turned them off and enabled bezels again in RLUI, and then went into the configs and turned fullscreen off, windowed fullscreen off,...and tried RL again but PAUSE does not want to activate even when retroarch is completely windowed. Any ideas? I had it working with PAUSE perfectly when it was the fresh download but for some reason now RL just wont take over.
