I understand, but for example the chip driving my RGB buttons (which are always on) also stays very cool. So I'm kinda baffled your chips run hot. Of course it's always better safe then sorry, I agree. So I'll pop some of an old gfx card. Looking good soo far, is the LED display a marked improvement over the old sharp?, or is the depth of the LED the major improvement?? Also im just wait for the first member to use 2 50" LED screen for the sides of the cab so you can also have the artwork for each table also....now that would be amazing!! chriz99 Posted May 31, 2011 Author Share Posted May 31, 2011 decased dimensions are 106 x 61 cm. advantages of (edge) led lcd are - lower power consumption / less heat - thinner construction, better to mount inside a wooden cabinet - better contrast and black levels than ccfl lcd, more punchy image disadvantages - more clouding with edge led lcd (it varies from panel to panel) - often more inputlag with led lcd (check out some reviews before you buy) thank god my ue46c6000 has almost no clouding. inputlag is no problem, when you enable game-mode and disable all other "picture enhancer". We have to go the eyetracking route (check youtube for vids). LED LCD is the same like CCFL LCD, only the backlight is different. there is a better contrast and black level with LED backlight.
