Yabause 0.9.14 released

Recommended Posts

Yabause finally released version 0.9.14 a few days ago!

You can get it here.

I wonder how it stacks up now?

Let me know how well it does now. Since its the next best emulator that runs disc images instead of needing discs or other software to handle images.

Thanks for the heads up I shall give it a try and see how it stacks up.

l can't find a change log so if anyone finds it please post it here.

Edit. Found the road map. wiki.yabause.org/index.php5?title=Roadmap go to see Saturn emulation still going ahead.

Based on those notes ssf still the way to go. :)

After having tried it, it's just as useless as it's always been. SSF definitely the only way to go.

Agree, I've finished with it and although the interface is a bit more user friendly, i.e setting controls, actually having games run is more important, :)

The first game I tried (Baku Baku) didn't work, but Radiant Silver Gun ran fine. It also had a weird issue with a choosing certain video core stopped the controls working.

Shame.

I use it only as an aternative emulator for Rayman since SSF has controller issues with that game. Works Great.

I'm putting together my Saturn Japanese games into hyperspin and I've been thinking how SSF is great, it is not user friendly, but its emulation accuracy in my opinion is solid, it doesn't have graphic filters or cute menus, but it runs practically all games just as a real Saturn does, it only asks for a good CPU and everything else is emulated without make ups, it is hard to see an emulator so solid as SSF is, seems that the author of it focused in the emulation itself. I'm talking about a Sega Saturn, that video game developers hated to make games for because of its complex hardware.

Yabause has some interesting features SSF does not, hope someday it gets as solid as SSF and we'll have a complete Saturn emulator!

I agree with you aorin1. Just love that it allows you to use images instead of needing ISO mounting or the discs. Someday it will catch up to the comparability of SSF. As long as they keep working on it. :pcguru:
