Bliss-box Kickstarter has been launched

Will someone else help damageinc86, my explaining skills are not the best.

RedKid, LOL we have similar stories. Did you read mine?

Interesting fact, In 1998 a friend of mine while playing Tomb raider (pc version) on my computer said to me, "Wouldn't it be cool to use an N64 controller for this game?". My immediate response was "yeah, sure dude".. Then the next day, while I was playing with the new PSX-EMU release I was thinking, hmm what about that? Then a pause.. Then na,, that would take a lot of decoding to figure out. Over the next few years as emulation became more and more successful, I always though back to that comment my friend made. I remember thinking, he may be a redneck, but he had a good idea... Today, knowing what I know now, and that it was actually quite possible, I feel I lost a good opportunity. If only Bliss-Box was around back then. Thinking about this, and the countless times my father told me how he too should have moved on one of his ideas, I only can say this.. If you have an idea, go for it, you may just amazing yourself. There is not much in this world that is impossible. If you put your mind to it, you can do just about anything.

P.s. Thanks Cory..

Hi, I just wanted to chime in since I am lucky enough to have one of the beta boxes and use it for my Hyperspin and it is just beautiful. If you don't use Hyperspin with a cabinet, but - like me - with a PC with many different controllers attached to it, the Bliss-Box is exactly what you need to end all your troubles with those damn different adapters. You can also finally connect two Jaguar controllers!

to me, the best things when using it with Hyperspin are:

In hyperlaunch, you can automatically load xpadder profiles for different players. But that gets a little weird if not all the connected adapters are of the same type. If you only have the 4-play, you can easily select the correct profiles for players 1-5 (I can't do six since that ssf emulator that needs it likes so few keys -.-)

I can swap input devices easily in game. The same port stays the same input device so I won't have any weird side effects (different xpadder profile on different pad, being screwed if I use rawinput ^^) if I switch the controller in game.

I can change the input device type without having to unplug an adapter from usb

I'm thinking of putting PSX-pads into my Xbox360 Hori Arcade sticks so I can connect them to the Bliss-Box so I won't have that weird XInput interfering with my setup ^^

edit: well you can also put it into a cabinet to attach pads with analog controls if you need to, I guess ^^

Up for a thing that is the perfect hardware counterpart of hyperspin ! Hyperspin + blissbox 4-play + mayflash dolphin bar and you can set up a perfect "retrobox" of all the CRT related video-game generation !

Sure did Dazz, thx for testing it. When are you going to get around to writing the API connector so that HS fans can get to some of the goodies in the code of the Bliss-Box? I know you have been busy lately.

We'll have to talk to BBB to see if it's possible to do the API.

How does kick starter work? If it gets funded do only the backers get the product or will others be made for the public?

KS has only one goal. To fund a product. All KSs have rewards to thank the backers but if it fails (not funded), nobody gets a single thing (not even KS). It is a win if win situation. Now once succeeded all backers get the rewards they wanted and everyone else gets to drool. The company or individual (me in this case) will get to decide how to move forward. If the KS is funded all backers will get their reward, that I can promise but will I sell more? The immediate plan is no, time to get working on better things. Will it come back, yes I plan to bring it back but it will not be the same. This KS version will be unique in design and a collector’s item. You only get one chance at this.

KS is not for buying items, it is for starting things... Rewards are just that, a reward.

FYI: I will order a few over the top but not to sell. And will also order a few extra cable kits for ayone that wants to buy a few more cables.

About to finally get one of these but before I do who tested this? Mr bliss says some folks here have. Can you tell me your experience before I get one? Does xpadder get thrown to the dumps? Do you have to wait after you launch a game to swap controllers? How does all this plug and play work with hyperlaunch aka rocket launcher and such?

I have also ordered one yesterday but it should take a few days to arrive. I will share my impressions as soon as possible. I already have controllers for Super Nintendo, Dreamcast, Gamecube and PS2 so I should look out for the other ones which are supported...

Anyone know if this will work with RetroArch?

RA can be kinda picky about devices

I think he's planning to have them out to is before the holidays but he said some will get them in August and September. I've been told that this is agnostic for operating systems and emulators. If it has a usb it will work

Yes, I'm supposed to receive mine in September. That's a long time but most probably worth the wait.
