Renaming Art/Image/Videos to match roms?

Recommended Posts

I was wondering if anyone knows a fast and simple way of renaming my media to match my Rom names so they work?

I have all the videos and art already and before I take the long path of slowly renaming them by hand I wanted to see if anyone knew of a fast way to do this

Thanks in advance

Here is a concept, since all the media, videos and databases match already, rename your roms ;)

I'm doing this right now also. I understand renaming roms if yours aren't the same scheme, but many names have been corrected or changed in the no-intro sets and the art/videos aren't corrected.

A ha! hit the nail on the head for me.  Both emumovies and hyperspin use the hyperlist (now hyperbase) databases

this is what you want your roms renamed to.  Now that search is working on the site there are plenty of tools laying around to help with this.

Just as easy for me to rename the art/videos to help my OCD ;) But I understand how it is set up right now.

You will break all the databases that way but to each their own

I'm using the no-into databases and filtering by wheel art in Hyperspin, then adding the wheel art to games I want that aren't in the official database.

Originally I wasn't sure if I would rather rename the roms to some incorrect names and add games to the Hyperlist database or do it this way.

Have fun! Though that means hypersync will not work for you either

So I am having this problem where i would download a set of roms it wouldn't read the roms because the name is different. Example is trying to run "Super Mario 64 (USA)" but couldnt find the game because the file name is "Super Mario (U)" is there any way that hyperspin or rocketlauncher can read (U) and (USA) as the same?
