  1. Tried numerous times to get MS-Dos to work with Dosbox, Rocketlauncher, HyperSpin without success. Read module notes implemented a few thing which failed re-read the notes until my head exploded. I then said bugger it and deleted the 376 gb of games I downloaded. I desperately need a guide to set this bloody system up and running, so is anyone up for the task Would be extremely grateful
  2. Newbie to the hyperspin / Rocketlauncher world so please forgive this question if its really simple. Can someone please tell me how to map / configure a logitech mom racing wheel so i can use the foot pedals etc on all emulators in Hyperspin? I plugged everything in an with zero mapping i can use the wheel but the accelerator never works (I might have to use the buttons on the arcade. I know I need to do something in Rocketlauncher then key mapper but not too sure how. Any help is greatly appreciatedl -Sheineken
  3. Hi everyone, my first ever post! I'm completely brand new to this, having just taken delivery of a Candy Cabs cabinet running lots of emulators under Hyperspin. Therefore, please excuse the ignorance of this question, but then I hope it should be a simple one! MY QUESTION: Quite simply: In the Sega model 2 emulator running in Hyperspin, how do you bring up a menu to configure the controls? I mean in MAME you would press Tab on the keyboard and select "Input - this game": What's the equivalent in Sega M2? REASON FOR ASKING: I absolutely adore the game "Top Skater" which I've found in the Sega M2 emulator. It fires up and launches into the demo mode OK, but it won't respond to any of the controls for "Insert Coin", so I can't play it! Aahhhh! The torture! The frustration! None of the controls or joysticks do "insert coin". I plugged in a keyboard and hit Tab, but it didn't respond. All I want to do is bring up the menu in which I can assign "insert coin" to one of the buttons: How do I do that, if it's one of the emulators in Hyperspin? Many thanks in advance for any replies. Currently I have some nice videos I would like to play for 30 seconds for instance, before the HS wheel starts running again. Is this a global setting? How can I change it on Hyperspin 1.4+ with Hyperlaunch (no rocketlauncher)? Thank you!

Since most Hyperspin sets are not updated in PD since 2013-2014 and there are some important systems not uploaded (PSX), I am trying to rebuild my own sets from Hyperlist official XML and No-Intro/Redump/Trurip sets. I am examining the XML structure and I see that it only identifies the rom by its name, not by CRC cheksum or similar. But oddly enough, I load the XML into latest clrmamepro, point to full PSX redump (USA) source folder, press rebuild and get a: Source-Files: 1720 - now even counting files in archives - Analyzed Files: 10984 Created Files: 0 Matched Files: 0 Skipped Files: 10984 And it does nothing. Comparing manually the XML and the roms source folder, they seem to match the names (for example "1Xtreme (USA).zip" and "1Xtreme (USA)" ). What I am doing worng? Do I need to convert the XML to DAT so clrmamepro can read it correctly? Thanks in advance. Sony PlayStation.xml

  8. I will try to keep this guide up to date with the latest versions of HyperSpin and RocketLauncher. Also I'm adverse to making videos, because I don't want to make a new video every time something is updated, I find it easier just to edit a pic and text guide then recording a new video and editing links. All guides will assume you know how to navigate files and folders in windows. Translations Español - Admoroux This is for a new install. I'm assuming you know your way around folders and files in windows To download HyperSpin first you need to get the necessary support files from version 1.3.3 http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/files/file/5599-hyperspin-133-full-install/ and then overwrite with the contents from the beta http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/files/file/7500-hyperspin-14/ I'm gonna use the C drive in the examples. Any drive letter is ok Now extract the contents of the download to a HyperSpin folder on the root of your drive. Example: C:\HyperSpin The path to your HyperSpin.exe should now be C:\HyperSpin\HyperSpin.exe Now you need to get RocketLauncher which is a fork of HyperLaunch, but with more active development. Download it here. http://www.rlauncher.com/forum/downloads.php?do=file&id=1. The archive (zip) password is www.rlauncher.com Extract Rocketlauncher into a RocketLauncher folder on the root of your drive (C:\RocketLauncher) and make sure the path to RocketLauncher.exe is C:\RocketLauncher\RocketLauncher.exe and NOT C:\RocketLauncher\RocketLauncher\RocketLauncher.exe Get back in your HyperSpin folder. This time we are gonna do some manual ini editing . Open your Settings folder in your HyperSpin folder C:\HyperSpin\Settings. Find the file named Settings.ini, open it in notepad. You should see at the top a line that reads [Main]. Right up under the [Main] line add Hyperlaunch_Path= C:\RocketLauncher\RocketLauncher.exe Open your RocketLauncher folder (C:\RocketLauncher), now look for the RocketLauncherUI folder open it and then open RocketLauncherUI.exe. If you are having trouble opening RocketLauncherUI and you get some message about failing to initialize, you will need to download Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 to get RocketLauncherUI to work. You will be greeted with a prompt asking you to update. Choose yes. Choose 'Latest' in the dropdown. Click on Check Updates at the bottom of the window. Wait for it to finish and then click Apply Updates. Close the update window. You can update in the future using the update button in the RocketLauncherUI tab (the update button looks like a globe with arrows.) You're thinking wow, so many settings this is too complicated. Well that's your fault for wanting lots of customization . RocketLauncherUI will probably restart wait for RocketLauncherUI to restart and then close RocketLauncherUI. Open your RocketLauncher folder (C:\RocketLauncher), now look for the Settings folder, open it and then rename Global Emulators (example).ini to Global Emulators.ini (Make sure you can see the extension: Known Extensions Are Set to Show) If there is already a file called Global Emulators.ini replace it with the example one. Open your RocketLauncher folder (C:\RocketLauncher), now look for the RocketLauncherUI folder open it and then open RocketLauncherUI.exe Look for the big tab on the right with the RocketLauncherUI image and click on it. Now look for a smaller tab called "Frontends" beneath the row of big tabs and click on it Click the green + under the small tabs and add a new frontend (here you can add different frontends like gamex or kodi). In the popup window titled Add Frontend:for the first blank, set the name to HyperSpin for the second blank, Click the Magnifying glass to the right and locate your HyperSpin.exe application. (C:\HyperSpin\Hyperspin.exe which should look like ..\..\HyperSpin.exe if you are following the guide) for the RocketLauncherUI plugin, choose Hyperspin in the dropdown box. for the RocketLauncher plugin, choose Hyperspin in the dropdown box. click on the button that looks like a blue floppy disk to save, if the button is not available just click the red x button to close and save the window. Highlight the HyperSpin frontend item in the list you just added and:click on the button that looks like a folder with a thumbtack (bulletin board pin) to set HyperSpin as your default frontend. (default frontend means RocketLauncherUI will always start up with this frontend) click on the button that looks like a robot terminator red eye to set HyperSpin as the active frontend. (active frontend means the frontend that you are currently working on in RocketLauncherUI) Look in the left near the top of the RocketLauncherUI main window for the words "Select a System" under it you should see a button that looks like two green arrows making a circle. Click on the circular green arrows button to refresh the systems list to match the active frontend. You can now close RocketLauncherUI or leave it open (you will need to open it later in this guide). Now to make full use of RocketLauncher we want to download the media pack. http://www.rlauncher.com/forum/downloads.php?do=file&id=2 Extract the contents of the media pack into your RocketLauncher folder (C:\RocketLauncher). Congrats you have now installed HyperSpin + RocketLauncher! You think you're done don't you, but you're wrong. There is still more to go. Gasp. We don't have any emulators yet. Ok then let's try to set one up, how about we do the most popular one. MAME Download the binary unless you plan on compiling your own version. (there are some benefits to compiling, hiscores and nonag being the most popular) Now let's create a new folder on your root drive called Emulators. C:\Emulators -this is not required but it is recommended Now inside this folder create a new folder named after the emulator called MAME. C:\Emulators\MAME Now inside your emulator folder install MAME. So the path to your mame.exe or mame64.exe should be C:\Emulators\MAME\mame.exe Congrats you have installed an emulator. Now to get it working with RocketLauncher and ultimately HyperSpin. Open your RocketLauncher folder (C:\RocketLauncher), now look for the RocketLauncherUI folder open it and then open RocketLauncherUI.exe On the left hand side in RocketLauncherUI you will see a list of all our systems and at the top is a system called Global (not actually a system in HyperSpin). Changing settings in Global affects all of your settings in every system. Consider this the default settings. Ok now highlight the Global System and click on the big tab Emulators. If you installed correctly (didn't skip steps like step 9) you will be greeted with a long list of emulator names. Scroll down this list until you find MAME. Double click on it. A new window will appear. Fill in the path value by clicking on the magnifying glass to the right of the path entry and find your MAME emulator. Close this window if the values for module and rom extensions are already filled. Now highlight the MAME system in the systems list. and click on the big tab Emulators. Add the path to your MAME roms in the rom paths field by clicking on the green plus button. For most mame installations it's in the same folder as mame.exe in a folder called roms. C:\Emulators\MAME\roms For other systems, I personally put roms in a folder separate from hyperspin and the emulator folder, something like C:\Games\systemName\gameName.extension ROMS are not included with MAME or HyperSpin or RocketLauncher. Do not ask for roms on this forum, it will get you banned. Google is your friend for this. Now back in RocketLauncherUI choose your default emulator by clicking on the Magnifying glass. Choose MAME [global] from the list that appears. Congrats! you have now setup MAME within RocketLauncher. Now to setup MAME for use with HyperSpin. First get the latest MAME xml from HyperList http://hyperlist.hyperspin-fe.com/ Drop the xml you downloaded into C:\HyperSpin\Databases\MAME\ and rename it to MAME.xml. If it asks you to overwrite, choose yes. XML management can be a pain and so can renaming all those roms that you legally copied from your personal collection of actual games that you legally acquired through legal purchases. For emulators other than MAME or MESS you will need to make sure that the file names for your roms match the names for the games found in your xml. For the best hyperspin xml management and renaming applications use Don's HyperSpin Tools or check out the beta version of HyperTools.zip (thanks, emb). I think that's it for a basic installation. It will be hard and time consuming to get artwork and videos until you subscribe to emumovies and receive platinum status here by donating. Oh wait I almost forgot, whenever any one says edit your module settings they usually mean open RocketLauncherUI click on your system, click on the big modules tab, highlight the module you are using, and then click on the Edit Global Settings button. Every day as time/content permits, I'm going to try to make a post on the HyperSpin facebook to try to publicly highlight and give credit for some of the great work that goes on in the HyperSpin community. I put some recent examples at the bottom of this post. I'm hoping that fellow HyperSpinners can help me pin down awesome projects by nominating developments here or via PM. Also, if anyone would like their work to be in the spotlight let me know! I don't want to focus on any one specific aspect of HyperSpin either so if people are working their butts off on anything at all, whether it be a database, artwork, a personal cabinet project, a third-party tool, anything at all, let me know If I ever miss updates to your project, please don't feel slighted! I try to keep track of everything cool I see on the forums but my days are hectic and I sometimes lose track For example I saw a really clean looking Epoch update a few weeks ago from someone but haven't been able to find it again Cheers!
  11. I've got the latest hyperspin. Did the standard install. Ran it. Then put the upgraded hyperspin in. All the settings are correct, the path, the mame 0.187 64bit), the extension (zip). When i load it, it will launch "1" game then it pretends like the rest aren't there. I even have the filter to only show the roms that are there. All the roms have been tested on Mame64 directly and Mala and play perfectly. Hyperspin just seems to be a confusion in it's self.
  12. Hi everyone, These forums have been great and I am getting into final steps of my machine setup. Couldnt have done it without you. Here is my roadblock..... I have an aimtrak lightgun and a utrak trackball both running via Mame. Games like golden tee and area 51 work great when launched straight from mame. Once I open the same games via hyperspin nothing works. The lightgun will still work in Nestopia so I know its close, but I am not sure what I have configured wrong. Does this have something to do with me using a keyboard encoder?
  13. Hallo zusammen, ich bin erst seit kurzem dabei mir das entsprechende Wissen rund um Arcade Emulation anzueignen und bin jetzt auf folgendes Problem gestoßen. Ich habe die MAME Version 0.189 und ein entsprechendes ROM Set 0.189 sowie CHD Set 0.189 beide merged. Hyperspin + RocketLauncher + Mame wurden laut diversen Tutorials eingestellt. Hyperspin funktioniert auch tadellos, er findet jedoch nicht die verschiedenen GAME Versionen die in der Merged ZIP enthalten sind. So sieht das im Rocket Launcher aus (siehe Screenshot). Gehe ich jedoch in den ROM Ordner und öffne die ZIP Datei, sieht man die restlichen Versionen. Die werden jedoch weder über MAME, noch RocketLauncher, noch Hyperspin angezeigt. Irgendwie komme ich nicht weiter :-( Hat von euch jemand eine Idee? Irgendetwas übersehe ich scheinbar Vielen Dank im Voraus!

(Located in hyperspin android download section) OK, I installed the apk and hyperspin crashed upon opening. I didn't install the zip and 7zip files so far. I deleted the hyperspin folder it created during install.. Gave me the following error. No Hyperspin Data Folder Found! Valid locations are "/storage/UUID/Hyperspin","/sdcard/Hyperspin" (where folder was created), or "/storage/sdcard0/Hyperspin". Please visit Hyperspin-fe.com for more info. OK, I took the liberty of creating an new folder and hyperspin did something interesting.. It loaded, expecting some file to load up, but the titlebar loaded HYPERSPIN and then hung as in no movement from that screen, but system was still accessible via alt-tab. Going to pursue this a little more. OK, recreated hyperspin folder, goes to load, but this time title bar goes to appear and hyperspin crashes out to main desktop. Added the directories and files from the HFSBox15k-Andriod-patch.zip file into Hyperspin folder and crashed again. Added the INI files from Settings_Android-10May2015.7z to Settings_Android folder and skipped the files currently in that folder (wasn't sure whether or not to override them) Hyperspin still crashes to desktop.. Any ideas here? Am I installing these files correctly, at the very least or is there something I'm missing here? Please help.

  16. Hola tengo funcionando hyperspin en una raspberry pi3. Quería saber como cambio la intro (video) de inicio. No se como llegar a las carpetas dentro del hyperspin. Conecto una pc a mi red wifi y detecta la raspberry pero solamente aparecen algunas carpetas y no encuentro la parte para cambiar el video. Gracias
  17. I installed a bunch of new consoles on my HS last weekend (using Shield TV PRO). Most worked without any issues but I'm having problems with getting a few of them to run....Astrocade, Adventurevision, and Atari 5200. All of these systems I've set up using MAME to emulate, via the Working Systems list posted in this form. I have MAME working fine on my HS setup, but these classic consoles using the MAME emulator to run aren't palying anything. I must have it set up wrong but I don't know what I'm doing. Possibly a BIOS issue? I never added any for these consoles but I didn't see any mention anywhere of having to use a BIOS either. Here are my settings for the 5200 but the Astrocade + Adventurevision settings look the same: path=H:\hyperspin\emulators\Atari 5200\ rompath=Emulators/Atari 5200/roms/ userompath=true exe=com.retroarch/com.retroarch.browser.retroactivity.RetroActivityFuture romextension=a52 parameters=cores/mame_libretro_android.so

Hi guys, I recently downloaded a torrent of a full rom pack for Mame 0.185 but it turns out to be Mame 0.183 Can someone please help me to find the best emulator to play these through hyperspin? I recently used MAMEUFIX but was not aware they don't go higher than 0.75 And I can't seem to fin an emu for 0.183 has anyone got any links for one? It will be very much appreciated
  19. Buenas, tenia un hyperspin con todo configurado funcionando perfecto con Hyperlaunch. Quise añadir PSP pero me daba un error al lanzar PPSSPP, buscando por internet vi que funcionaria usando Rocket Launcher. Cual ha sido mi sorpresa al ver que ahora todos los sistemas se intentan lanzar con ROcket Launcher y no funcionan... A pesar de eso, veo que lo único que tengo que hacer es ir creando los diferentes emuladores en RocketLauncherUI, lo he hecho con PSP, PSX y PS2 y todo parece correcto, pero SUper Nintendo se escucha fatal, cosa que no me pasaba ni con Hyperlaunch ni si lanzo el emulador a mano (zsnes), pero si lo lanzo con Rocket Launcher o desde Hyperspin el sonido es pésimo. He mirado las opciones de configuración del modulo de zsnes en RocketLauncherUI pero no hay demasiadas, ninguna de sonido y si cambio el modulo me da un error al lanzar el juego (entiendo que por no coincidir emulador y modulo). He actualizado zsnes a la ultima versión pero todo sigue igual. Ya no se que mas mirar, alguna idea?. Por otro lado, que ventajas tiene usar Rocket Launcher exactamente?, podría volver a Hyperlaunch si quisiera?. En el HyperHQ siguen apareciéndome asociados a Hyperlaunch, pero luego no es asi al ejecutarlos desde Hyperspin. Gracias de antemano

Hi All, im trying to set the screen resolution by default to 1920 x 1080, ive gone into Mame and then into default options and set up the screen size. ive also gone into HyperHQ and set it to screensize full but for some reason, when ive loaded the rom i want to play, i need to hit ALT Enter on the keyboard to make it go full size. does anyone know how to set this up by default?
  21. Good afternoon All, I was wondering if anyone could help me. I would like to know if anyone knows how to disable the hyperspin wheel. Currently, I go into HyperSpin which then loads the HyperSpin wheel, from there I click onto MAME logo which inturn takes me into the MAME Wheel with all the Roms. what I would like to achieve is, when clicking on the HyperSpin logo on my desktop, it takes me directly into my MAME Wheel. So it bypasses the HyperSpin wheel. If anyone can assist, that would be appreciated.

    Hey y'all, just a quick notice that while all of the files on the FTP are still accessible, it's been locked for upload. This is to avoid media being added undetected now that I've finished downloaded the unsorted submissions after several weeks. A new method of uploading and distributing media is coming but in the interim, please continue to share with the community by adding your files to the Upload Here section of the download section. This will make it easy for everyone to see when something new is available and it will be much more easy for me to track for the ongoing audit. Cheers!

Greetings, I have been running Hyperspin 1.0 for a few years now and I noticed that on my barebones WIndows XP laptop that Hyperspin does not accept keyboard input on automatic startup of my system. I have an app shortcut in the startup folder on my start menu. This is a problem with I control the system with only the joystick and the laptop is inside the cabinet. My workaround is using my phone or another laptop to use TightVNC to grab mouse input to activate input on the app. There are no other apps grabbing keyboard focus to my knowledge. Only microsoft security essentials and Intel WIreless App is running besides Hyperspin. My System: DELL Latitude 520 Windows XP Pro SP3 2GB Ram 4 player XMEN cab 2 x X-Arcade USB and PS2 keyboard input modules wired into 4 player joysticks and buttons. Would love for this to be a seamless experience. Anyone have a solution for powering on a system locked in a cabinet? I have to reach into mine with a ski pole to power it on. - AaronWPI
