  2. Hi all, I am creating just one arcade wheel on my setup, with as many emulated arcade games as possible on it. To me this is preferable than having them split across seperate wheels for manaufatures and/or systems. Naturally MAME would be the base, and used wherever possible, and I was going to use Phulsoff's unofficial 0.168 database with mahjong and casino removed. I would need to update as each new mame version comes out - hopefully Phulsoff will continue his great work in providing XMLs. Below are some assumptions I have made with regards to the other Arcade Emulators and databases out there, please feel free to comment or correct me on them: My understanding is all the "classic" databases are just taken from MAME set, filtered by manufacturer, so can be disregarded? AAE games are all emulated in MAME, so no need to use this emulator or add games to database? Zinc and FB Alpha games are emulated in MAME, so no need to use these emulators or add any games to database? Neo Geo emulation is great in MAME so no need to use different emulator or add games database? Sega Model 2 emulation is not very good in MAME, so games should get added to database and model 2 emulator used? Sega Model 3 emulation does not work in MAME, so games should get added to database and supermodel emulator used? Laser Disc emulation does not work in MAME, so games should get added to database and daphne emulator used? Capcom Play System I,II&III are emulated in MAME so no need to use different emulator or add games to database? Cave games are emulated in MAME, so no need to use different emulator or add games to database? MAME only emulates some discrete games, so the Dice emulator should be used for any unsupported and those games added to database? Namco System 22 is emulated ok in MAME, so no need to use different emulator or add games to database? Sammy Atomiswave is not emulated in MAME, so Demul emulator should be used and games added to database? Sega Naomi is not emulated in MAME, so Demul emulator should be used and games added to database? Triforce hardware is not emulated in MAME, so triforce branch of Dolphin should be used and games added to database? Tatio Type X games are not emulated in MAME, so games should be added to database and setup to launch correctly? Anything I have missed? Apologies for all the questions, but I have always focussed on console emulation, and so arcade emulation I am not so familiar with (I was leaving it until I build a cabinet) but decided it be more fun to play the games sooner . Be cool to get some advice from people more experienced in this area, cheers...

  10. Hey everyone. I am still pretty new to Hyperspin and I've ran into a bit of a snag. I've been able to figure out how to set up Neo Geo MVS, NES, SNES ect but I am having an issue with MAME. I have a 6000+ rom set for MAME but I've seen videos of people with menus of Arcade Classics, Nintendo, Capcom, ect and I can't for the life of me figure out how to get it to work. I have downloaded the Main Menu themes from this website but there isn't a description on where to place said files. Is there a way to set up sub menus for different roms within MAME? If so, could someone point me in the direction of a tutorial? It's just that my MAME wheel in Hyperspin is chaotic to say the least and I am hoping to streamline it. Thank you for your time!
  11. Hey guys not sure if you saw this in the cabinet build page, but check out my new portable arcade i built arcade in a case, and its completely wireless! running on a large battery power bank!

  23. Hello everyone, I am new here. I wanted to share my cabinet that i built but not sure how everyone will take it. I will start by saying this. I had a close death in my family and I was seriously depressed and was very ill. I was on you tube on day and started looking up things from my childhood and I remember a happy thought about arcades and so i proceeded to look into how far they became since I was young. I am almost 50 now and i started to build one but ran into a snag. I am so confused on how to make it work or get it finished cause their are so many front ends and setups i am so confused. I seen Hyper Spin and said this was amazing but I am so out of touch with technology and I feel it will never get complete. i themed my cabinet after Green Lantern cause it has a special meaning to me and i used to play it on the Wii gaming system. I wanted to integrate it into my cabinet but am lost. I hope someone on here can help me or advice me to go into the right direction. I'm not worried about roms or games as yet just setting up the front end and making it look presentable and worth a talk peace around the house per say. Is their anyone that can help me or get me started. Thanks for the listen people seeing how I am new here and love to find my way to someone who understands my situation. I am posting a couple pics of my work still in progress hope some one can lend a hand on good intel and information on how i can finish this cabinet. I turn a negative into a positive to hopefully see it through to the end.
