In total it 1778 games (Ver. 5.2). (To see all the videos in this genre, in addition to adding the videos of Famicom must be added all videos of the NES version, without renaming, as they take each of these as "clone"). All Game: Unlike "All Game Full" does not include clones or Japanese versions of USA. Priority is given to the "Translated En". It's the standard genre. In Total contains 886 games (Ver. 5.2). Nintendo Famicom: Same as "All Game", genre by default. Essential: Same as "All game" or "Nintendo Famicom" but only contains the games in English or translated into this, or games with a minimum of Japanese text perfectly playable. Do not inclue the "bootleg". It is the genre more similar to the official version. Contains 464 games (Ver. 5.2). Essential Special: Same as "Essential" but with the novelty that the description is renamed every game to English. for example "Akumajou Special - Boku Dracula-kun (Japan) (Translated En)" Renamed in the description "I'am Kid Dracula (Japan) (Translated En)" or "Chuuka Taisen (Japan) (Translated En)" as "Cloud Master (Japan) (Translated En)". Also incorporated some games that came to USA with another name, but in Japan are the originals. For example added "Gegege no Kitarou - Youkai Daimakyou (Japan) (Translated En)" That in the USA is "Ninja Kid (USA)", In the description will come out as "Spooky Kitaro - In the Yokai World (Japan) (Translated En)" In Total contains 471 games (Ver. 5.2). Credit goes to Tonesmalone, chex, and Retro Goonie. Special thanks goes to Kondorito for already having box art for the entire database - that made my job a lot easier. Game names were not changed at all - if you were already using the development thread database, switching to this one should not break anything, and you will get the benefit of improved meta data. I have taken the development thread [Official] database, and done the following 1. Corrected errors in the <manufacturer> field. I am primarily concerned with the name reflecting what is written on the box - and I tried to be as accurate as possible. So if one game uses the typical 'Taito' logo, but another one uses 'Taito Corporation,' I entered the data accordingly. Sometimes there is no logo, and I had to use the small print on the back of a box or the cartridge. And some cases, I had to use the title screen. I tried to give respect to any situations where there were multiple names on the box. In that situation, I entered the data in the format of developer/publisher, or in some cases, developer 1/developer 2/publisher. 2. Re-added two games that were taken out of HyperList - Super Mario Bros (25 Anniversary Edition) (Japan) and Super Maruo (Japan) (Unl) (Translated En). Super Maruo has the enabled="0" feature activated, and if you want it in your collection, you will have to manually alter the database and either change it to enabled="1" or delete it, so that it it is the same as the other entries. It is not just an 'adult' game, it is also pornographic and vulgar. It should be in the list, simply because it exists - but it's also trash in every sense of the word. 3. Changed the Shufflepuck Cafe rating back to HSRS - GA. This game is harmless. There were rumors back in the Amiga days that the scantily clad female would flash you but they are bogus as far as I can tell. And I personally played the Famicom version - there's no nudity. 4. Added 4 new games. Downtown - Nekketsu Koushinkyoku - Soreyuke Daiundoukai (Japan) (Translated En) Gimmick! (Japan) (Translated En) USA Ice Hockey in FC (Japan) Venus Senki (Japan) (Translated En) USA Ice Hockey is not a translation obviously, but any Japanese game with 'USA' in the title fascinates me. I've included a genres.zip download, that includes custom manufacturer genres for every single developer/publisher, years, ratings (even though Super Maruo is the only 'Adult' game), and two custom genres - Translations, and Sports Complete. Huge thanks to @Dubbloseven and @jcm9800 for the original FDS pack they created, as I based this one from theirs. Specifics of this pack: There are a lot of games that were originally released without any artwork (just a disk sticker and transparent box, or even without any box). For those, I took the creative liberty of making the covers, and 6 of those were created by the user lobdale. I made two types of boxes according to their original art; regular (can see the disk from outside) and full size (covers the entire box). I have also made the boxes depending on the color of the disks (disks that were originally yellow, green, white or blue; if the case shows the disk, it will show the correct color). Nintendo Famicom 3D Box Pack v1.0 (Kondorito) View File I was adding the Famicom system into my set, and found out that there are no actual 3d box packs created, EVER (that I have heard of)! So my Hyperspin OCD kicked in, and since the rest of my sets have 3D boxes, I could not leave Famicom in 2D! - This set contains over 1.100 boxes! - Horizontal, vertical and square boxes; all matching the original source art - Side color matches the front cover color - System logo color depends on the side color (so we don't have black on black) - Some boxes are not from the official XML but I have created them in case those games are added in the future - The covers have great image quality (thanks to @fire10 for the source material!) Bear in mind that this is version 1.0; I will be reviewing the boxes (as a lot of them could get better coloring, borders cleaning, side colors), and will try to update them. "Demon Castle Special: I'm Kid Dracula") is a platformer video game made by Konami. It was released only in Japan for the Famicom on 19 October 1990.[1] The game was never localized outside Japan until a fan created translation was released in 2003. It is considered a parody of the Castlevania series. A version for mobile phones was also released on 30 June 2006 in Japan only. Easter Egg At the title screen, entering the Konami Code (Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A) will give a tone for correct code entry. Pressing Start, however, gives you nothing more than a mocking message. Japanese English ざんねんでした。 なにもないよ~ん! Too bad. There's nothing here! The program code were intended to have more than one cheat codes at once, but there is only one cheat entry left in the pointer table for the cheats, the rest is removed at some point. However, some coding for at least one more additional cheat flag exist in the game. Code PAVLSYAA will replace the easter cheat effect with the scrapped unused one, which will gives to you extra 50 lives instead at the start of the new game. Nintendo Famicom - Akumajou Densetsu (Japan)-klopjero View File Nintendo Famicom - Akumajou Densetsu (Japan)-klopjero Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse, known in Japan as Akumajō Densetsu (悪魔城伝説?, literally Devil's Castle Legend),[2] is the third and final Castlevania video game produced for the Nintendo Entertainment System. It was published by Konami in Japan in 1989, in North America in 1990, and in Europe in 1992 (some time after the European release of Super Castlevania IV). It was later released on the Wii Virtual Console in the PAL regions on October 31, 2008, in North America on January 12, 2009 and in Japan on April 21, 2009. The plot of Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse is a prequel to the original Castlevania (much like the earlier Game Boy game Castlevania: The Adventure) set a few centuries before the events of the original game. The game's protagonist is Trevor C. Belmont, an ancestor of the original hero Simon Belmont. Regional Differences Castlevania III managed to slip a lot of religious imagery under Nintendo's radar, but all of the game's nudity has been censored. Some graphics and palettes have also been improved. Akumajou Densetsu Castlevania III The nude statues seen on the name entry screen and password screen have been given dresses and their shading has been updated. The vines that were originally on the statues were removed. Castlevania III also uses a much more stylish font than Akumajou Densetsu. Amusingly, the opposite went on to happen in Castlevania IV. Akumajou Densetsu Castlevania III The same also applies to the nude statues at Block 8-01 in Dracula's Curse. Akumajou Densetsu Castlevania III The cross in the intro scene originally had a "glowing" effect surrounding it, which was removed in Castlevania III. Akumajou Densetsu Castlevania III Medusa lost her female characteristics in Dracula's Curse. Akumajou Densetsu Castlevania III Besides the breast reduction, the completely messed up animation frame for her aiming upward stance was cleaned up. Still, three of her animation frames were less than perfect. Her head looks suspiciously mispositioned in one of her aiming straight ahead frames. A few Medusa-tiles went unused in the Japanese ROM, an arm meant for the glitchy animation frame.
