  1. Greetings programs, First, I'd like to give a huge shout out to the entire arcade community - from HS and Mame, to BYOAC and everything in between, THANKS! Building my own cabinet has, in a way, completed something in my life. After thinking of the ideal shape cabinet for me, I thought the classic Galaga was great. Besides being one of my favorites, I love the classic shape. I am a huge fan Tron which is what was initially driving the whole project. Guess I always wanted both a Tron and Galaga cab. I have the x-arcade Tank Stick so the inner part of my cab had to be about 30". I decided to make the side panels more narrow (24") as it needed to fit through most doorways. Also, the back 2 wheels are stationary horizontal and the front 2 spin. That way I can move it sideways easily but it won't move front to back when my friends are jamming away on it. I have 3 florescent lights inside the cabinet, one behind the marquee, one in the whole center to light up my front board, and one underneath for the 'floating' look. I found 5" of translucent blue decal vinyl at a local printing shop. It stuck to the light bulb fine (florescent lights don't heat up.) I mounted it to the bottom and wired it up into the cab, presto! Helpful links: I mostly use Hyperspin as my FE. I also have and use Maximus Arcade. http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/content.php http://www.maximus-arcade.com/ I found a carbon fiber vinyl decal on Ebay, usually used for covering car parts. Worked great to cover the sidewalls and inside shelf. It was highly adhesive and cut down very easily. I ordered a 5' by 7' sheet and had plenty to work with. $30. Here's an example: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1FT-x-5FT-4D-Professional-Grade-Carbon-Fiber-Vinyl-Wrap-Air-Realease-Bubble-Free-/231066219352?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item35cc9eb358&vxp=mtr I got the Galaga side art on Ebay as well (or just search Galaga Side Art,) $35 per side: http://www.ebay.com/itm/331089241799?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 I got a swivel TV/monitor mount from Walmart, here: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Ready-Set-Mount-CC-R25B-Flat-Panel-TV-Mount-13-to-37-Black/11018955 This mount was perfect. Now, I can very easily rotate the monitor (19"Dell) for the classics. I was able to Shell Hyperspin with this helpful guide: http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/showthread.php?14319-HyperSpin-Shelled-on-Windows-7-Solved-and-Working! I was nervous about it but it worked flawlessly. I also shutdown upon exiting HS so the Windows environment is pretty much completely hidden. Many parts, including the retro Tron joystick, spinner, and more came from GroovyGameGear.com: http://groovygamegear.com/webstore/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=73&products_id=335 The very helpful guide for powering on your pc with arcade button is here: http://coolexpletive.blogspot.com/2012/04/how-to-replace-your-pcs-power-button.html I have my button slightly hidden so guests don't accidentally hit it. When the system is on, one push of the button will force shut down. Marquee came from GameOnGrafix.com. Scott is great! http://www.gameongrafix.com/products/generic-marquee-dot-techno-1 Every build is unique to its builder and that's one reason arcade gaming is so much fun on a variety of levels, from building to actually getting to enjoy your project. Everything on this cab was done with lots of thought and effort. I may install a bezel at some point if I can figure out how to still allow the monitor to spin. Otherwise, here it is and thanks for looking... Game on!! End of line.

*** THIS FILE IS AVAILABLE TO HYPERSPIN SUBSCRIBERS ONLY *** Dear HyperSpin friends, I've put together a package of sorts, aimed at HyperSpin newcomers and veterans alike. I've been continuously grooming a custom "best of MAME" database, bezel set, and MAME ini file set for quite a while now. My goal is to provide something that someone can drop into a fresh setup or custom wheel and be up and running right away. I intend to release updates to the individual downloads on a periodic basis, so check the change logs for more information going forward. The package is split into three parts, as follows. Put together, these downloads will have results as shown in the screenshots. HyperSpin MAME.xml database (Link) Corresponding RocketLauncher bezel set (THIS DOWNLOAD, see below for details) MAME ini files (Link) File information: This download contains a set of RocketLauncher bezels which match the "best of MAME" XML database referenced above. Not every game has a bezel yet, but progress continues either by myself or other artists in the community. All credit is due to the original artists and all file names should contain bezel creator names. I've merely gone through what's available, selected my personal favorites, renamed them to match ROMs, and included them here. Or I've created or modified (with permission/credit) them myself. Info/caveats: The version number of this pack corresponds to the percentage of Bezel coverage to the "best of" database mentioned above (ex: if 50% of games have bezels, the version number will be 0.50) Entire pack is split into three zip files to meet the site's file size restrictions All bezels are 16x9, and at least 1920x1080 For each game with bezels available I've picked my favorite and included it A default bezel is included for those games without coverage Bezel folder names match ROM names in the "best of" database (important for clones) Install instructions: Download files Extract compressed folders into your \RocketLauncher\Media\Bezels\MAME folder Assuming you've got bezels enabled in RocketLauncher... Enjoy!
  4. Hey Gang, What companies would you recommend to purchase a Pedestal Arcade? As time has marched on and with 4 kids, a few full time job, and family company, there has been no time to do this myself. I have seen machines from Extreme Home Arcades, and they look amazing. Does anyone have an opinion of this company and their products? Or does anyone have any experience with any other Pedestal Arcade makers? Thanks for your help!
  5. I created this bezel to experience real arcade cabinet gameplay like i did my childhood and wanted to share it. Actually I don't have enough fun playing arcade games in LCD monitor with a plain screen. That's why I decided to create a bezel for my hyper spin and added it some effects like (light reflection, some old screen effects and a reflection of arcade room for make you feel like playing your game in arcade room. I use 1440x900 pixels on my PC so i edited it for this resolution only. You can just resize your bezel.PNG to fit your Full Screen Resolution and re-edit Bezel.ini file to get the best resolution for you. To install just extract rar file to your hyper spin directory like this: HyperSpin\RocketLauncher\Media\Bezels DOWNLOAD: MAME.rar 2ND VERSION: MAME2.rar

HyperSpin MAME.xml database (THIS DOWNLOAD, see below for details) Corresponding RocketLauncher bezel set (Link) MAME ini files (Link) File information: This download contains a custom "best of MAME" HyperSpin XML database. It contains both standard ROM-based games as well as some CHD-based games. It may be copied over an existing MAME.xml file and run against a full romset to achieve a pared down result. The database was developed for a 2-player cabinet with standard orientation, 8-way joysticks and six buttons per player. There is no trackball or spinner on the control panel. So that being said, following are the requirements kept in mind as I develop it: Top 350-ish working MAME arcade games (totally subjective, of course) Based on official HS MAME database I'm in the US and think the US loading screens are cool, so I've included most US clones instead of parent ROMs (exception being where parent version is much preferred) 2-player clones of 3+ player games are included instead of parents (ex: TMNT and X-Men) No driving, spinner, dial, trackball, analog, or really custom control games (apologies to many great games) Install instructions: Download file Make a backup of your existing MAME.xml Copy file into your \HyperSpin\Databases\MAME folder, and rename it to MAME.xml List of included games (by ROM name): 1942 1944 1941u 1943kai 1943u 1945kiii 19xx 3countb 3wondersu aerofgts airwolf aliens aliensyn alpham2 altbeast armwaru astdelux astorm astyanax asurabus asterix atetris avspu baddudes batcir batmanfr batrideru batsugunsp bbakraid berzerk bgaregga bionicc2 bjtwin blazstar blitz2k blktiger bloodbro bloxeedu bnj bombjack boogwing bosco bstars2 btime btoads bubbles bublboblr bubsymphu buckyuab bwidow cabal captavenu captcommu choplift circusc cloak cninjau commando contra cotton2 cottonbm cottonu crimecu crimfght cstlevna ctribe cyvern darius2 dariusg dariusu dassault dbreed dbz ddonpach ddp2 ddpdojblk ddragon2u ddragon3 ddragonu ddsomu ddtodu deadconx defender digdug dimahoou dinou dkong dkong3 dkongjr dkongx docastle donpachi dowild dragnblz drmario dsaber dsmbl dstlku dungeonm dynwar eagle ecofghtru edrandy eightman elevator elvactr esprade eswatu excitebk fatfursp fatfury1 feversos ffightub finalbu foodf footchmp frogger frontlin funkyjet futariblj ga2 gaiapols gaiden galaga galaxian gallop gaplus garou gaunt22p gauntleg gauntlet2p gberet gground ghostb ghoulsu gijoeu gnbarich gngt goldnaxe gorf gradius gradius2 gradius3 gradius4 grdians growlu gunbird gunbird2 gunforc2 gunsmokeu guwange gyruss hcastle hharryu hitice hotdogst indytemp inthunt invaders jojo jojoba joust jrpacman jungleh junofrst karianx kengo kingdmgp kinst kinst2 knightsu kodu kof98 kotm kotm2 kungfumd kyros ladybug lastblad lastbld2 lifefrcej lightbr liquidku loht lrescue lwings macross magdrop3 mainevt2p mappy mario matmania mazinger megaman megaman2 mercsu metamrphj mikie mk mk2 moomesauac mooncrst mp_gaxe2 mp_sor2 mpatrol mrdo mrdrillr mshu mshvsfu mslug mslug2 mslug3 mslug4 mslug5 mslugx mspacman mtrap mushisam mvscu mwalku mysticri mystwarru nam1975 narc nastarw nbajam nbbatman ncommand nemesis nibbler ninjaku nitd nitrobal nrallyx nslasheru nspirit numanath nwarru openice osman outfxies outzone pacman pacmania pang3 panic paperboy pbobble pengo pepper2 pgoal phoenix popeye prehisleu progear psychic5 pulstar punchout punisher puyo puyopuy2 pyros qbert qix quartet2 raiden raiden2 raidendxu rallybik rampage rastsaga rbff2 rbibb rbisland rbtapper rdft2u redearth rfjetu roboarmy robocopu robotron rtype2 rtypeleoj rtypeu rygar s1945 s1945ii s1945iii s1945p salmndr2 samsho samsho2 scobra scramble sengoku2 sf2ceuc sfa2u sfa3u sfau sfiii2 sfiii3u sfiiiu shadfrceu shinobi shocktro simpsons2p slammastu sncwgltd snowbros socbrawl sokyugrt sonicwi2 sonicwi3 soulclbruc spelunkr spf2t spidmanu splatter ssf2tu ssridersubc strider supermanu superpac superspy suprmrio svc tankbatt tengai tgm2p timeplt tmnt22pu tmnt2po tnzs toobin trackfld tron truxton2 turfmast twincobru uballoon uccopsar umk3 uopoko vanguard vendetta2pw viewpoin vigilantg viostormu vsav2 vsavu wakuwak7 warriorb wboy willowu wjammers wof wow wwfmania wwfsstaru7 wwfwfest xevious xmcotau xmen2pa xmvsfu zaxxon zookeep

  12. 16:9 HD - AAE - Game Themes Ver. 1.1 20170422 View File This is my set of manually remastered 16:9 HD AAE themes. I try to pay as much attention to detail in my remasters as possible, redrawing or replacing artwork where necessary to optimize aesthetics for a HD widescreen display. All artwork is smoothed and the visual space has been manually re-optimized theme by theme to ensure themes look as natural as possible in 16:9. Finally, I check each theme one by one before uploading. If you find any flaws, please bring them to my attention and I will fix them for the next release. Cheers. To install these themes simply place them in your :/HyperSpin/Media/AAE/Themes/ folder and overwrite or backup any existing files. Please see conversion and update notes for additional details as to changes made to each individual theme. If a theme isn't listed in the notes, the conversion was fairly trivial and didn't require anything worth mentioning. I spent hundreds if not thousands of hours on 16:9 theme conversions that I'll be uploading. I hope you enjoy them. Submitter Avar Submitted 04/22/2017 Category Platinum Themes File Count Credits

  25. Hi all, I am creating just one arcade wheel on my setup, with as many emulated arcade games as possible on it. To me this is preferable than having them split across seperate wheels for manaufatures and/or systems. Naturally MAME would be the base, and used wherever possible, and I was going to use Phulsoff's unofficial 0.168 database with mahjong and casino removed. I would need to update as each new mame version comes out - hopefully Phulsoff will continue his great work in providing XMLs. Below are some assumptions I have made with regards to the other Arcade Emulators and databases out there, please feel free to comment or correct me on them: My understanding is all the "classic" databases are just taken from MAME set, filtered by manufacturer, so can be disregarded? AAE games are all emulated in MAME, so no need to use this emulator or add games to database? Zinc and FB Alpha games are emulated in MAME, so no need to use these emulators or add any games to database? Neo Geo emulation is great in MAME so no need to use different emulator or add games database? Sega Model 2 emulation is not very good in MAME, so games should get added to database and model 2 emulator used? Sega Model 3 emulation does not work in MAME, so games should get added to database and supermodel emulator used? Laser Disc emulation does not work in MAME, so games should get added to database and daphne emulator used? Capcom Play System I,II&III are emulated in MAME so no need to use different emulator or add games to database? Cave games are emulated in MAME, so no need to use different emulator or add games to database? MAME only emulates some discrete games, so the Dice emulator should be used for any unsupported and those games added to database? Namco System 22 is emulated ok in MAME, so no need to use different emulator or add games to database? Sammy Atomiswave is not emulated in MAME, so Demul emulator should be used and games added to database? Sega Naomi is not emulated in MAME, so Demul emulator should be used and games added to database? Triforce hardware is not emulated in MAME, so triforce branch of Dolphin should be used and games added to database? Tatio Type X games are not emulated in MAME, so games should be added to database and setup to launch correctly? Anything I have missed? Apologies for all the questions, but I have always focussed on console emulation, and so arcade emulation I am not so familiar with (I was leaving it until I build a cabinet) but decided it be more fun to play the games sooner . Be cool to get some advice from people more experienced in this area, cheers...
