Hi I'm a bit new but basically I'm up and running but I'm suddenly getting CTDs quite frequently. I used an install of hyperspin, rocket launcher and mame that I had on an external hard drive and then just changed the file locations where needed. I am now getting an issue where HS crashed hard to desktop and I dont have a taskbar either. I have followed a guide to prevent Windows 10 accidentaly going into tablet mode but the crashing persists. Also some module errors. Any help would be greatly appreciated and here some warnings from the RL logs. Hi everyone, Need the hyperspin community to give me a hand! I was playing my mame cabinet where I got this error message. I have a birthday party I'm hosting this weekend and hope to get this up and running before families start coming in. I have reset the system with no avail. Any help would be appreciated!
Ever since I discovered the Touhou Project through this community, I've found myself more and more interested in the world of Doujin games, essentially Japanese indie games. (More info here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D%C5%8Djin_soft) I kind of always ignored doujin games in the past as I wasn't a fan of anime and some of the Japanese art styles but I've come around on them and discovered that I was stereotyping these games quite a bit and there were a lot of very high quality games being released that were of interest to me. Being a fan of the Neo Geo game Windjammers, I was quite happy to discover a game known as Crazy Power Disc Perfect, essentially an anime styled remake of Windjammers that throws a lot of new twists into the formula, such as the ability to jump. After having found the game - no easy feat as it was originally released on the internet in 2006 - I quickly discovered that there was a major problem with attempting to run this game in Windows 8 or Windows 8.1. Within a few seconds of the first match starting, the game would crash. I attempted to debug the issue and found the crash happening in dmsynth.dll, which is included in the DirectMusic API for Windows 8. This same crash appears to be responsible for a lot of other older doujin games crashing too, so I went looking for a fix and found someone had figured this out earlier this year, so I thought I would bring it to the attention of the community.
