  1. Hello Spinners and Pinners, Wow what a hiatus for me. Sorry I haven't been around much lately. It's good to see people still making machines and sharing ideas. This website is still my favorite to get a pulse on custom arcade machine builds. I do still answer emails and contacts so please if you need anything let me know. Keep up the excellent work! VPcabs out of Ohio is going to be on Shark Tank next month. As you can imagine Brad Baker's 3 year journey to get to this point has been a long haul (literally). His annual visits to arcade shows throughout the country has been a lifeline to what Hyper Spin and Hyper Pin represent. Good old arcade fun in a new age cabinet build. I'm fortunate to have been the designer dude for all his commercial free artwork during this trek. It's been keeping me incredibly busy. I can't wait to see my logo I designed for his company on television. Wow, my design work on tv... wait a minute I've been doing designs that have been on tv for 20 years?? Never gets old VPcabs has brought to market a new stand-up arcade cabinet called Vertigo. It plays both classic arcade games as well as Steam Pinball FX2 pinball games. It's a great design to house both formats into one machine. It's been selling lot hot cakes and makes us feel good that old school and new school arcade gaming is alive and well. Check out VPcabs new website: www.virtualpinball.com I'm still making designs for clients all over the globe. It's been a busy past few years and wouldn't be fortunate to have done so without the good people of this community. I'm lucky to have been part of so many projects. I just needed to give everyone hear a tremendous shout out and let you folks know I'm still in the biz of getting custom ideas brought to life for our community. I worked with BBB on the Hyper Pin 2.0 project. We created a fantastic new logo and I'm anxious to see it's debut. I look forward to a resurgence in our gaming community and hope more and more people will visit and keep this community strong especially with the exposure VPcabs will bring to a larger market in the coming months. Big shout out to Lucian045; my good friend Brad Bowman is still my main man in the print world. Out of the 100+ design projects I've designed they have all gone to Brad. His work and attention to detail are second to none. I've always admired his positive attitude and ability to get the best possibly product to clients all over the globe. Also big shout outs to Dazz & Mameman. It was a blast to see them again at another Texas Pinball Festival last month. I really enjoy playing old school pinball machines. I love seeing all the different designs through the ages. Especially playing games I hadn't in the past and also all the newest arrivals like the Big Lebowski and Stern's Ghostbusters. Although my all time favorite is the new KISS pinball. I'm still a member of the Kiss Army! A few pictures of some recent work and some shots from this years TPF. Please contact me if you'd like to hire me for your next project. I hope to continue having fun getting your ideas onto cabs all over the globe. Much like my career in broadcast television it never gets old. Thank you. All the best! Respectfully yours, Josh http://www.jwgfx.com

  3. Hello Pinners & Spinners, Wow what a year for custom & themed artwork designs for our community members. Thanks so much for the steady stream of graphic design projects from our members. It's been a wonderful gamut of ideas and design layouts. Up first is Pin City, my all time favorite so far for VPcabs. The client needed multiple machines of Brad Baker's standard body with red, white & blue powder coated hardware options. Having a one of a kind 3D pinball inspired city design. I had to create a fun commercial free design to showcase some high end pinball machines for a game room distribution company out of St. Louis. These machines ended up in their many showrooms in the Midwest. Thanks to VPcabs and the distribution management team for helping me conjure up this glorious designed projected. Richie Wrench Pinball is a fun project fueled by their company mascot. The client wanted his blonde non-Italian no mustache plumber to be showcased in a water works environment. We tried a few initial title treatments in a few different color layouts to flush (sorry couldn't resist) out the theme for the project. The overall design and use of the mascot turned out to be a wonderful flow of color and space to match the goal of making people more aware of the company's mascot for their plumbing business in Illinois. VPcabs needed a new Mini Cabinet Design with their company logo (which I designed) to be some what aggressive and eye catching for some Midwest pinball conventions. We took an earlier VPcabs standard body & P2k design and reformatted it to fit the new Mini dimensions. The original design was blue, yellow and red and we transformed that into a metallic and brimstone dark edgy design. The results work great for the goal of the project. Last is a piggy back project for a standup arcade classic Goonies. Gbeef designed a beautiful control panel for a HS member who was looking to further that design and create a marquee, 2 sides and a kick plate. The result is a great homage to the movie and Gbeef's attention to detail with great elements from the story used throughout the design. The end result is a real tribute to the classic film. Thanks to all of you who have checked out my posts and have asked questions or inquired about your projects. These design projects are a pleasure to work on and I feel honored when I get to bring these wonderful ideas to life. VPcabs has really set the bar in this realm and each time we tackle a new project great design ideas are spurred and something terrific happens for the community. Speaker bezel art as well as inner rail designs have really evolved the past year and I look forward to more pioneering design solutions in 2015. Thank you all for the work. If you have any questions or would like to talk about your own project ideas please let me know. You can also send me an email by visiting my web site: http://www.jwgfx.com Thank you. All the best! Josh
  4. Looking for some high quality HyperSpin logo decals to print and adhere to my cabinet. Are there any good files out there? Illustrator files would be ideal, but I'd take anything decent.
  5. Hello Pinners, I have another batch of graphic design work for our members. I had the good fortune of having some classic design themes to work on this past fall. One is the popular Star Wars universe and another wanted to embrace and pay tribute to the Nintendo 64. Also Glympse Legacy is a software company wanting to have a fun pin cab at their headquarters for their employees to enjoy. All these sets came out great and I appreciate getting to bring these cool ideas to life. Pin Wars wanted to have the look and feel of the original Star Wars movies. We sprinkled in some newer items but stayed close to the origin of Star Wars. I'm really liking the balance and colors used to showcase some of the popular events of the first 3 films. The layout and overall sense of the characters and pinball works out great. Pinball 64 really was a fun project for me. It was a trip down memory lane. We wanted to pay tribute to so many titles that we incorporated screen shots into monitor formats and scattered them about the cab. Many different layouts and balance for all decals on the build. Star Fox looks awesome up top and I like having characters to add to balance out the video game screen feel to make for a family fun design. Glympse hired me to custom design the artwork for one of Brad Baker's VPcabs pinball cabinets. I designed a theme based on a GPS like system (the Glympse software) and a Seattle look for their headquarters. We made two different tops to show off Seattle's beauty with the space Needle and Mount Rainier. I really love the blend of the company logo and colors and scenes for their cabinet. Thanks Stephen! Thanks for checking out my work. If your interested in having some custom artwork please send me a pm or email and we can see what we can't come up with. Thank you, all the best! Josh www.jwgfx.com
  6. Greetings Spinners & Pinners, please check out a couple of Hyper Pin decal sets custom designed from our exisiting generic set for pinball cabs. Hyper Pin Decal Set - Multi Character Design Update My client wanted a modification of our Hyper Pin generic decal set. We upped the amount of pinball characters in such a way to keep the original design concept in check but also make it more custom. We also revisited the top design layout with Adam’s Family and Star Trek artwork. I made a carbon fiber fire design background to update the original Hyper Pin generic decal set. The dark carbon and colorful fire with updated characters creates an elaborate design with more detailed work to admire. We added Monster Bash and South Park to the design front with the fire and brimstone feel to really pop the classic pinball characters. Hyper Pin Custom Decal Set - Black Knight Another client wanted to modify our current Hyper Pin generic set by adding the Black Knight to the series of characters. We added a 3D grid background and revisited the top design as well. The 3D grid pattern wraps around to the side art from the front to create a seemless pattern. The tops got an update and the set matches the new sides and front design layout and color motif. Please check out my galleries for these and other designs for Pinball, Bartop, Arcade standup & Pedestal style cabinets. I also offer logo design and pretty much anything else you may need from the design world. Please visit my website (which is still in development). You can send me an email by visiting the site: http://www.jwgfx.com Thank you. All the best! Josh
