  1. Dear Hyperspinners First of all, a huge shout out to the amazing feedback on my last questions. You guys are fabulous! Ok....now for my question. I have a about 12-13 systems that I am setting up on the Nvidia Shield Hyperspin. I am wanting to know how to create MAME themes - particularly Midway Classics and Capcom Classics. I have downloaded the xml file (in addition to the relevant artwork) from this site, however I want to know where to paste this in my main Hyperspin folder and calibrate it so that it will show up in the Hyperspin main menu? Will I have to edit the xml file? Do I need a separate settings file? Any step by step instructions would be fabulous!!! Please use quite basic language to help answer this question...….I know very little about Hyperspin and am just at the beginning of my journey. For the record, I am using a PC and an external hard drive to setup Hyperspin, then transferring this to the emulated storage on my Nvidia Shield. Again.....Thank you so much for all of your help. I really appreciate it! Soup Pants
  2. Hi all, My MAME theme does not show any game themes or game videos. They exist under Hyperspin/media/Mame/Videos and play fine in an external player Are there any log files that get created for the android version? I can see the wheel artwork per game and the games load and run fine. Whats the first thing to check? The android_settings does have a video path but if im correct this can be ignored? Using an Nvidia Shield Portable. Thanks for your time and help.
  3. From the same author of Real3DOPlayer Fastest and most compatible Jaguar emulator I've seen. Not bad for an initial release.... https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.vastness.altmer.iratajaguar&rdid=ru.vastness.altmer.iratajaguar Nearly all games run well on my Shield... See the compatibility matrix: http://www.arts-union.ru/node/66 It's $9 but worth it. There is no launch-intent yet, he's aware we want the feature and has said he'll try to add it in the future.
  4. I used the 'Hyperspin for Android' setup instructions pinned here to get Hyperspin running on my Nvidia Shield TV Pro. Everything works fine now but I'd like to add more systems to the wheel since there were only 21 systems included with the download. Would like to play others like Atari 2600, Jaguar, and Vectrex. Are there instructions somewhere on how to add new systems to the HS wheel? Digging inside the files I downloaded, I found the Main Menu.xml with a list of current systems on the wheel....do I just add systems manually to that list and download & create new Media folders for them?
  5. I need some help getting mame setup for a shield tv. I already have hyperspin working with NES, SNES, N64, SMS and Sega Genesis The way i have it setup is on the root of shield is my hyperspin folder. In hyperspin I have a folder called Emulators, Folders named with each system, then a folder called roms, then the roms ie. hyperspin\emulators\Sega Genesis\roms All of the roms i have for these systems have one file with the same file type for all roms for each system. ie: all Nintendo 64 roms are .z64 file extension. Also all of the roms are clearly labeled with the game name. then in my settings folder in hyperspin there are .ini files for each system. Inside the .ini i set up the rompaths correctly, with the retroarch exe and the rom extensions = to the file extensions in my rom folder. I also have the cores setup with the correct core that was downloaded through retroarch. There are also database files for each system with one xml document for each system. all of these systems and games work fine in hyperspin. Now for Mame. I downloaded two sets of Roms, one called .180 which is full of a ton of zip files and also hbmame which was 16 different zip files full of what looks like a lot of the same stuff in each zip. When i unzip the zip files for what i think are the games they look nothing like my other roms for the systems. 1. Am i supposed to have a folder named MAMA under emulators then roms and dump all of these zip files in there? (i did try this and i couldn't get anything to work after) 2. The Database file under MAME is full of different xml documents like bowling games, boxing games ext. Is this correct? My other systems have just one xml there with a list of all games. 3. The MAME .ini file also came with .mame4droid for the exe instead or retroarch, is that correct, or should it be the retroarch settings? 4. I feel like I must be missing something big with the mame setup. Doesn't seem like the others. Any help in pointing me the right direction would be much appreciated. Sorry for dragging on, just want to make sure i am clear. Thanks.
  6. Does anyone know how to setup the nvidia grid streaming service with hyperspin on the Shield TV?
  7. Hi Guys, have used hyperspin on the ShieldTv 16gb running from a 1TB external usb HDD without any problems up until the recent update to marshmallow. I decided to backup my Hyperspin folder then adopt my usb HDD as internal storage so as to be able to download more apps and games onto the shield. I then copied my hyperspin folder back onto the shield in the /sdcard folder (as far as i know this is now the root of the adopted usb drive) Hyperspin runs fine with videos and wheel art up until you choose a game. The first time i chose a game retroarch loaded up to the menu screen and i was able to load the rom from there (which it has never done before, usually goes straight to the game) but since that first time when chosing a game the screen goes black for a fraction of a second then just goes back to the game select screen. there is no message of invalid rom path which makes me think that is not the problem. all games run fine when started in retro arch so the cores are all working fine in there. anyone else having this problem?? below are the rompath, exe etc from my super nintendo ini. cheers in advance. rompath=Emulators/Super Nintendo Entertainment System/Roms/ userompath=true exe=com.retroarch/com.retroarch.browser.retroactivity.RetroActivityFuture romextension=smc, sfc parameters=cores/bsnes_mercury_performance_libretro_android.so searchsubfolders=false pcgame=false winstate=HIDDEN hyperlaunch=true Per_Game_Modules=false Skipchecks=false
  8. Anyone have a Nvidia Shield TV controller mapping config? Note that I am not talking about the tablet, I am talking about the Android set top box that comes with a wireless gamepad. The general Android config linked from the other Shield thread did not work properly. edit: nevermind I think this had to do with RetroArch using the nestopia core, something is up with the controller, anyway maybe this button mapping config helps someone else though just switching the core to fce seems to have worked for me: http://pastebin.com/DjhWb9LV
  9. Hello good peoples! I have a question which may be quick n easy for some of you. This is my first experience with Hyperspin. I followed the short guide here on the forum: http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/topic/9226-how-to-set-up-hyperspin-on-the-nvidia-shield-beginners-guide/ I have a 500GB Shield and for right now I want to just get 'something' working. I tried to get about 35 NES games running and the wheel to show only those 35 games. Right now if I launch Hyperspin it and select the NES system, it shows over 2,000 game names. I am not sure how or why. Do I need a MAME.xml or just the NES xml? I have created Hyperspin\Settings\Nintendo Entertainment System.ini and it starts off like this: path=C:\Users\Neo\Desktop\Hyperspin\Hyperspin\Emulators\Nintendo Entertainment System\ rompath=Emulators/Nintendo Entertainment System/roms/ userompath=true exe=com.retroarch/com.retroarch.browser.retroactivity.RetroActivityFuture romextension=zip,nes parameters=cores/nestopia_libretro_android.so searchsubfolders=true pcgame=false winstate=HIDDEN hyperlaunch=true I have my NES roms in Hyperspin\Emulators\Nintendo Entertainment System\roms There are about 35 games listed in my Hyperspin\Databases\Nintendo Entertainment System\Nintendo Entertainment System.xml <?xml version="1.0"?> <!--Generated by Don's HyperSpin Tools version 4.2.6--> -<menu> -<header> <listname>Nintendo Entertainment System</listname> <lastlistupdate>10/26/2015</lastlistupdate> <listversion>1.2</listversion> <exporterversion>HyperList XML Exporter Version 1.3 Copywrite © 2009-2011 William Strong</exporterversion> </header> -<game image="" index="" name="Back to the Future (USA)"> <description>Back to the Future (USA)</description> <cloneof/> <crc>7C40D6C6</crc> <manufacturer>LJN Ltd.</manufacturer> <year>1989</year> <genre>Action</genre> <rating>Other - NR (Not Rated)</rating> <enabled>Yes</enabled> </game> -<game image="" index="" name="Battletoads (USA)"> <description>Battletoads (USA)</description> <cloneof/> <crc>BA9164E7</crc> <manufacturer>Tradewest</manufacturer> <year>1991</year> <genre>Beat-'Em-Up</genre> <rating>Other - NR (Not Rated)</rating> <enabled>Yes</enabled> </game> Thanks for any help!
