TMW2N
Hi I've got hypersync updated to the latest verstion, sign into both my hyperspin and emumovies accounts in hypersync, and have the text in bottom corner in green, but when i hit to sync it always tells me i'm not connected to the internet. windows firewall is disabled, and the computer is connected with a cable to my router. everything else works online, i can browse to emumovies and hypersync sites. What am i missing? machine is running windows 7 pro X64, with microsoft security essentials. i've got nothing in the error log, and the debug log has the following repeated for every time i click the button: INFO 01/05/2015 21:43:52 Preparing for a synchronization job INFO 01/05/2015 21:43:52 Checking for network connectivity INFO 01/05/2015 21:43:53 Connectivity has been verified DEBUG 01/05/2015 21:43:53 Creating a new dialog box ShoBox() WARN 01/05/2015 21:43:53 Connectivity test failed, aborting synchronization job INFO 01/05/2015 21:43:54 Preparing for a synchronization job INFO 01/05/2015 21:43:54 Checking for network connectivity INFO 01/05/2015 21:43:54 Connectivity has been verified DEBUG 01/05/2015 21:43:54 Creating a new dialog box ShoBox() WARN 01/05/2015 21:43:55 Connectivity test failed, aborting synchronization job INFO 01/05/2015 21:43:56 Preparing for a synchronization job INFO 01/05/2015 21:43:56 Checking for network connectivity INFO 01/05/2015 21:43:56 Connectivity has been verified DEBUG 01/05/2015 21:43:56 Creating a new dialog box ShoBox() WARN 01/05/2015 21:43:57 Connectivity test failed, aborting synchronization job INFO 01/05/2015 21:43:58 Preparing for a synchronization job INFO 01/05/2015 21:43:58 Checking for network connectivity INFO 01/05/2015 21:43:58 Connectivity has been verified DEBUG 01/05/2015 21:43:58 Creating a new dialog box ShoBox() WARN 01/05/2015 21:43:59 Connectivity test failed, aborting synchronization job
TMW2N
i've done a bit of digging into the issue, i ran wireshark on the computer to capture some packets and found that hypersync pings a specific IP address but gets no response. I can't ping it from any computer behind my network connection, but can ping it from work if i connect to the work VPN. obviously i can't run hyperspin / hypersync on my work laptop, so i guess i'm out of luck when it comes to getting hypersync running as it seems my ISP blocks access to the required site
TMW2N
forked out a bit of cash for a VPN to bypass my annoying ISP and it works a treat every time
dbdecker
What VPN did you use?
dc414
this cant be the obvious answer. i have had everything working till i did the update. There should be no reason to purchase a vpn
