  • Very Frustrated - Any insight is welcome... Things need to be fixed

    PROBLEM - FIXING MEDIA

    I added a bunch of wheels.... And was able to use the full screen Theme override for things like Atari 2600, 5200 etc...

    Then for Atari Jaguar... I couldnt get the override theme to work... however after some testing.... I eventually did figure this out.... I had to go into HyperHQ.. delete the system. Go into the main menu media.. renmaed the theme. Closed HyperHQ... Reopened it again. And readded the system.  

    I then reloaded Hyperspin and Voila... I was able to use the Full screen menu override for Atari Jaguar

    I then tried to do the same exact thing with MUGEN... Which doesnt actually have a theme but is a noted system on the HyperHQ installation process.

    Well doing this and trying to use an Override... doesnt work at all. Even if I did the above. The wheel also refuses to show any media at all.

    Other problems.... Some of the wheels have a main menu theme... but the wheel media refuses to show.

    Its very hard to make heads or tails of anything.... And even using process of elimation is proving difficult because it seems that certain wheels, which seem to have a theme... act differently then other wheels that were seemingly added but the backend code was never completed. This is the only explanation I can think of..

    Im going to find another one with a theme and do the same thing.....

    Also the forums are very active... Zero threads of people testing this stuff.

    So I just went through all the systems....

    Any wheel that had a main menu theme that worked.... The media also seemed to work in wheel. Anything that the media didnt work... ArcadePC for instance.. which is PC games. And I have a video theme for... Overrides dont take... None of the media will sync either.

    There are systems that are missing data at this time, and that's likely what you're running into. I think I know what the bug is based on your description and I will take a look shortly.

    Newest update just tested

    I just added American laser games again... The Main wheel showed up.. the theme video showed up... Still no media inside the wheel for anything. Mugen doesnt have any wheel media/video at all.... Both on the main menu and inside the wheel.

    This seems like its backend stuff.. related to the cache and the plugins.. as its only happening to certain wheels.. other wheels seem to be ok... Glad that youve seen this thread.

    Also... Hyperspin goes completely grey for me now after the latest update, after about 30 seconds of scrolling... I got a wide screen... Seems just like the white screen error in HS1. But this time its grey. Im thinking its running out of video ram?!

    I suppose its possible. What are the specs of the machine your're testing on. I haven't had the white screen error yet myself.

    So it sounds like the issue you're running into is due to the database missing for the system so matchmaking stops. We'll be working on these missing databases in the coming weeks. However, This is a bug since overrides should not be dependent on this.

    I got a 3080... 64 gigs of ram.. its a good machine.

    Yeah i dont know about the database... I mean its happening to systems in your approved list of adds... and also happening to custom adds... to systems that dont show up when you type them in the systems search bar.

    Anyways if your on it... Ill be around to test things.

    That's gonna be better than the vast majority of machines that run HS. Once I get done with this bug, we'll circle back and find that one.

    This is the screen I get after about 8 seconds of loading up Hyperspin... Just a big grey blank screen.

    This only happened after the last update. Just for reference... Its hyperspin version 2.0.36.. Maybe hyperspin didnt update with the new version? What version should it be? I know it gets incremental updates.
