HomieTheClown
As the topic says, I have a weird problem with starting mame in hyperspin. Let me explain. When I first start hyperspin and pick a mame game, it works and I can play the game. No problems. HOWEVER... AFter I am done playing the game and exit it which takes me back to the hyperspin Mame wheel of course, and then I choose to play the same game or another game again but this time I cant start the game. I can move the wheel up and down to highlight other games. I can even back out and choose another emulator. However I can't play any game. Not even from another emulator (for example Retroarch). It only happens after I play a game from mame. If I tried a game like super mario bros for retroarch, then I tried mame, it will let me play the mame game once. AFter that I have to either reboot, or open up mame manually from my desktop which obviously ain't gonna work for Hyperspin. This is a stupid problem to have! Also one other thing I noticed. After the computer boots up I will click on the Hyperspin short cut. In the menu, none of the controls will work. Can't move the wheel, can't select a emultator. I have to minimize back to the desktop and then click on hyperspin at the bottom in the task tray(whatever its called. That will bring HS back up and the controls work fine. The program is awesome and I am very grateful to have but there are some major problems. Ahhhhhhh If it matters, I am hitting the escape button to exit out of Mame. This is the default way AFAIK. If there was another way to exit the game, maybe I should try that. Any help is most appreciated.
baddeolv
Some things to check: Make sure all your resolutions match ie Hyperspin, MAME, Windows, other emulators, etc Sounds like even though you are getting kicked from mame, MAME/RL is still an open process in the background, which would prevent you from launching anything else Try switching MAME video to ddraw, it could be a d3d error that's kicking you out If you have an antivirus program, check that nothing is getting blocked, also check windows firewall Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I goofed up in my first post. I re-read my post after your had posted. Mame is not kicking me out when I start the game. It plays fine. The issue I am having is only after I quit my my mame game. I have an arcade cab that I built and it is having the same problems as my test computer laptop. So basically I have two different versions of hyperspin/mame on two different computers and they both have the same problem. I'm running Windows 7 with MAME 162. I can't believe I am the only person who's having this issue.
baddeolv
Are your modules up to date? Try this. Launch MAME and exit out. Once you do that, ctrl alt del, and go to processes. See if MAME or Hyperlaunch is still running. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
HomieTheClown
I will have to check to see if it's up to day. I am not sure how but I can google unless you can tell me. I noticed that when I open Rocket launcher, it will want to update itself but will always fail in the middle of updating. I am wondering if that is messing things up for me. Also I checked my processes after ctrl-alt-del out of HS. HS is running of course but I didn't see mame. I was looking for MAME64.exe and didn't see that. I don't know if it shows up as another name on the process page.
baddeolv
Hmm. I would try to start a fresh install of RL. Before you do that, I can zip up my modules and send them to you. I'm not sure if RL still uses git but mine are up to date according to the latest pull I did. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

In HyperHQ Wheel settings for mame. I changed the "Execution" from hyperlauch to normal. I followed a Youtube guide so I don't know i forgot to follow a step or the guy forgot to say to change it. Thanks again for your help. I got another questions but I better start another post.
