jmarzano1
Hi, It has been awhile since I have messed around with Hyperspin - but am finally getting back into it. One thing I cannot figure out is that the hyperspin wheel is missing the clip art for the Roms under PS2, SNES, Coleco and Sega Genesis. The video previews work and the games launch but the ROM titles are in plain text and have no clipart. I do have other roms that are under Playstation, nintendo, Atari and so on that look perfect. I took a screenshot - the wwf one looks good but the others are plain text and not too sure what to look for. Below is a snippet of the database xml <game name="Virtual Pinball (U) [!]" index="" image=""> <description>Virtual Pinball (U) [!]</description> <cloneof /> <crc>d63473aa</crc> <manufacturer>Electronic Arts</manufacturer> <year>1993</year> <genre>Pinball</genre> <rating>HSRS - GA (General Audience)</rating> <enabled>Yes</enabled> </game> <game name="Wayne's World (U) [!]" index="" image=""> <description>Wayne\'s World (U) [!]</description> <cloneof /> <crc>d2cf6ebe</crc> <manufacturer>Gray Matter</manufacturer> <year>1993</year> <genre>Platform</genre> <rating>HSRS - GA (General Audience)</rating> <enabled>Yes</enabled> </game> <game name="Whip Rush (U) [!]" index="" image=""> <description>Whip Rush (U) [!]</description> <cloneof /> <crc>7eb6b86b</crc> <manufacturer>Vic Tokai</manufacturer> <year>1990</year> <genre>Shooter</genre> <rating>HSRS - GA (General Audience)</rating> <enabled>Yes</enabled> </game> <game name="WWF Royal Rumble (World)" index="" image=""> <description>WWF Royal Rumble (World)</description> <cloneof /> <crc>b69dc53e</crc> <manufacturer>Acclaim</manufacturer> <year>1994</year> <genre>Fighter</genre> <rating>HSRS - GA (General Audience)</rating> <enabled>Yes</enabled> </game> <game name="WWF Super WrestleMania (USA)" index="" image=""> <description>WWF Super WrestleMania (U) [!]</description> <cloneof /> <crc>b929d6c5</crc> <manufacturer>Sculptured Software</manufacturer> <year>1992</year> <genre>Fighter</genre> <rating>HSRS - GA (General Audience)</rating> <enabled>Yes</enabled> </game> Does any one have any suggestions? ashmck73
Looks like there is missing Wheel images for your various roms. Check in the media folder for your selected system (ie PS2 or SNES) and then look under /images/wheel and see what is in there. There should be a PNG file for each rom you have. If there isn't a corresponding PNG image file for a rom then it will show up on the wheel as just plain text. It may be that some of your roms have been renamed. Check the names of the PNG files in the /images/wheel folder against the name os the roms in your roms folder - they have to match perfectly. Long story short - plain text on the wheel means a missing wheel image file.
jmarzano1
Thank you for your reply - youre right. I am not too sure why its empty - I used Hypersync Cloud. Would there be a reason why Hypersync didnt download the media into that path?
ashmck73
It may be that the system you are trying to sync just doesn't have all the wheel art images you want. A good place to start is to make sure your XML is one that came from this site from the Database downloads section - and that this marries up with your romset (ie - same file names). This can easily seen if you drop the XML file from this site into the database folder of your selected system (rename the old database to something else as a backup), and then do an audit of the system - it will tell you if the naming is wrong. HyperSync only downloads media if it recognises what you are looking for - ie - your rom names marry up with it's wheel art. - Hope that makes sense
ashmck73
Yeah - you might want to get RomManager (http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/files/file/7420-hyperspin-rommanager/) and run your romset against the Official Database and clean it all up - may take some time but at least it will start downloading images for you
