wrufai Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 Good Day All, I've been setting up my Hyperspin drive off and on for the past couple months and came across a major problem today. I attempted to add another system via HyperHQ and all of a sudden, HyperHQ froze. I didn't think it was big deal and just proceeded to reboot my computer. After coming back from the reboot, I opened HyperHQ and it gave me an error saying that it could not find my Main Menu.xml file. I double checked to see if it was where it should be and sure enough, it was gone. Can anyone point me in the right direction to get this back on track?
wrufai Posted August 1, 2015 Author Posted August 1, 2015 Looks like you will have to recreate it. Jeremy, how would I go about doing that? I can not get into HyperHQ at all to add my systems again.
wrufai Posted August 1, 2015 Author Posted August 1, 2015 Did you run HyperSpin once like it says. Indeed. After the intro video is finished, HyperSpin says "Cannot Find Main Menu.xml".
wrufai Posted August 5, 2015 Author Posted August 5, 2015 I just gave up and now in the process of redoing my main menu xml list. It sucks but nothing worked.
deekdiggler8 Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 I recently ran into the same problem but it was while removing something with the main menu wizard. It gave me an error message and hyperhq is now completely blank and hyperspin tells me the main menu.xml is missing. Did you ever find a solution? I'm really hoping I don't have to redo the entire hyperspin setup after months of getting it ironed out. Ugh.

Unfortunately, I could not find a solution to the issue. I'm in the process of rebuilding everything again (sigh). Because of this, I'm going to periodically start making backups of my main menu.xml file.
deekdiggler8 Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Hey man, I just fixed mine. Not sure yours will be such an easy fix, but it was incredibly easy for my setup. In the databases folder>main menu>main menu.xml, the xml file was blank. I redownloaded the entire hyperspin package and just copied over the default main menu xml. After that, opened with notepad, edited out the consoles I didn't want, and BAM it was up and running again. HOPEFULLY this can help you, I'm so relieved. Good luck bro. There's a few quirks I need to fix like my edited Mame game list is gone and Steam and Wii are gone, but for the most part everything works.
