Chiliwhomp Posted August 15, 2015 Posted August 15, 2015 Hello All, Will keep this brief as to not waste anyone's time... I am another one of the army of long time lurker rarely posting people who just recently had to rebuild my hyperspin install on a new computer at which time I upgraded it to 1.3 and have that working for the most part. Now as is always the way I have come here with a couple things I cannot seem to answer on my own or haven't found what I felt was a direct answer so just going to ask you knowledgeable people for some help. 1) Should I go to the 1.4 beta? I am not using rocketlaunch ( don't even know what that is honestly always been using hyperlaunch if it is better someone let me know ) and just wondering if I would see any noticeable benefits ( ie. visual, performance, etc. ) by going to it. 2) And this is a bit of an odd one and I think might require a bit of a description first.. I have my hyperspin machine hooked up to a receiver which is hooked up to the projector in my man cave. My old version of hyperspin used to hang if I left it running for long periods so far this one hasn't but when I came back to the cave and turned on my receiver I found that it looked as if the contrast had been turned way up and was making things look like they had a purple hue to them. I know its hyperspin because when I quit the desktop looked fine and when I launch it again hyperspin looks fine. So I am assuming whatever is happening is due to the loss of the video signal when the receiver is turned off as the projector is really the only "monitor" the computer has available to it and when it is restored the program isn't quite able to recover... curious if any of you have ever heard of this and/or if there might be a way to solve it.
Chiliwhomp Posted August 16, 2015 Author Posted August 16, 2015 1) It isn't considered the "beta" anymore. They have moved it to official release. What version of hyperlaunch are you using? I would say definitely upgrade, you can still use it with your hyperlaunch setup just fine. You will most likely see a little performance increase. Just backup your current hyperspin.exe and you can easily go back if you want. 2)hyperspin has some issues when left running for a long time, memory leaks I believe. Nothing else you can do but just restart it periodically. 1) Just whatever came with the current "1.3.3 Full" download.. downloaded that and just copied over files, theme's, etc. ... though I was used to there being a hyperlaunchHQ is that not a thing anymore? 2) Yeah after I posted I went to the issues sticky.. bit surprised that a large ongoing app like this would still have memory issues.. was hoping perhaps that had changed so that I could just leave it always on as just another thing to be able to flip to from the receiver without having to start it each time. What the heck do people with full arcade boxes do sounds like a bit of a pain haha. And to add to all of this it seems in the process of transferring everything my wireless receiver has died! not even showing up as an unknown device just nothing on the two PC's I tried it on... have any suggestions for an xbox 360 controller wireless receiver to replace it? or just whatever cause it all works the same? Oh and one other thing ( alright so much for just two questions.. ) All my main menu graphics seem work except for my sony playstation one that one is very hit or miss.. quite often just shows the default text not the graphic when loading any idea why that might be?
