Mame0.165 hi score

I've been trying to compile Mame0.165 with no nag and hi score but have consistently failed.

The no nag is fine but I can't seem to get high scores to save.

Has anyone managed to achieve this, or is it a known problem?

Any comments or thoughts would be appreciated.
