crusadeRGP Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 Wondering if anyone else is having any issues with MS-DOS games in their Hyperspin install. Once i choose any DOS game it will try to load in full screen using DFend and after a couple seconds it goes into windowed mode. I just recently updated to RocketLauncher 1.0 after using HyperLaunch for some time. Games will load in full screen when I test it in RocketLauncherUI so it must somewhere in HyperSpin. If I need to upload any logs please let me know.
goldguitarguy Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 Check your Dfend.ini file located in Rocket Launcher\Modules\Dfend. Make sure it's set to Fullscreen=true. It's also may be good to check your config file for Dfend which if like DosBox may be located in your local app data folder under users
crusadeRGP Posted September 12, 2015 Author Posted September 12, 2015 I checked and everything is set to start in full screen. I went back to Hyperlaunch and it starts okay along with the test icon in RocketLauncherUI. Still not working inside of latest hyperspin.
goldguitarguy Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 Are you using Rocket Laucher or Hyperlauncher? Cause you should not being using Hyperlaunch with Rocket LauncherUI...Or you just went back to test through Hyperlaunch for comparison? And did you check the actual Dfend ConFig file? And maybe check the Dfend ConFig File for your roms too.....I had to modify some stuff in my DosBox config files from (Output=Surface)to (Output=Overlay).... Sorry man I'm not familiar with Dfend I'm just trying to help.....but from some quick research I see Dfend is a front end for DosBox....so if you change your Output setting in your MAIN DosBox config file to Overlay it might slove your problem....Surface setting doesn't support scaling or aspect correction...Try setting (aspect= true)as well
crusadeRGP Posted September 12, 2015 Author Posted September 12, 2015 Just was trying out Hyperlaunch to see if it still worked which it does but currently set up to to RocketLauncher. Everything is as it was before I switched over to RocketLauncher a few days ago but I did recheck my DFend config and everything looks okay. I also want to note that when I start any MS-DOS game when it minimizes from full screen to window mode it is running behind the HyperSpin front end. It seems like HyperSpin wants to stay on top of the game window after it is selected.
goldguitarguy Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 Look for your DosBox config file,if it's the emulator you're using for Dfend...It should be in local app data under users or you can extract a rom(if zipped) go to the !Dos folder\ROMNAME\dosbox.config. Check the settings there
crusadeRGP Posted September 12, 2015 Author Posted September 12, 2015 My dosbox.conf contains these lines: fullscreen=truefulldouble=falsefullresolution=originalwindowresolution=originaloutput=surfaceautolock=truesensitivity=100waitonerror=truepriority=higher,normalmapperfile=mapper-0.74.mapusescancodes=true
goldguitarguy Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 Hyperspin does that sometimes when you have an emulator launching a game to full screen and hyperspin is set to window mode or vice versa from my experience.
goldguitarguy Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 My dosbox.conf contains these lines: fullscreen=true fulldouble=false fullresolution=original (instead try =Desktop) windowresolution=original output=surface (instead try= Overlay) aspect=true (add this cmd line) autolock=true sensitivity=100 waitonerror=true priority=higher,normal mapperfile=mapper-0.74.map usescancodes=true
crusadeRGP Posted September 12, 2015 Author Posted September 12, 2015 Still having the same problem in full screen HyperSpin with the changes to the DOSBox config file. All updates to the AHK modules are downloaded to the latest versions.
goldguitarguy Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Here's the setting choices from my RocketLauncher\Modules\DOSBox\DOSBox.ini,they should match your dosbox.conf too [settings] Fullscreen=true Scaler=normal3x Output=overlay Fullscreen_Resolution=desktop Windowed_Resolution=1280x1024 Aspect=true Force_Extraction_To_Rom_Path=false Hide_Console=false Gravis_Ultrasound_Folder=..\Emulators\DOSBox\Gravis_UltraSound
