UKShark Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Hi all, Im new to keeping mame updated and audited. I wonder if someone could explain what im doing wrong. I downloaded a mame 166 set from a goos source, and then downloaded .166 mame from. I loaded clrmamepro and pointed it at the mame.exe (double checked it was the .166). It was a split set, but the end result was clrmamepro said i had about 50 sets missing and a ton of naming problems. (I didn't allow it to fix anything) Then i downloaded a .166 dat from emulab and loaded that into clrmamepro which showed the same set was spot on. http://www.emulab.it/rommanager/datfiles.php?category=2 I checked clrmamepro was the latest version, so why does using the mame.exe to generate the .dat show errors (what is the emulab .dat generated from) I want to keep nice neat updated mame set, but dont understand the small differences in .dat files, so any help would be ace. Thanks in advanced to all
