What controls do what in HS front end??

Hi all,

  I am way newbie in all this. I have been following they youtube vids from Simple Austin to set up a MAME system with Rockerlauncher/Hyperspin. They are very good.

I have everything loading and almost working.

My problem is I am using a X-Arcade controller with trackball, and he used a Xbox360 controller.

When I load HS my left joystick moves the wheel up and down, L/R moves to next/past letter in alphabet.

But none of the buttons select a game.

Looking around in here, I can not even find listing of what functons HS has when it is running? How to select an emulator, How to select a game, how to select and start player one. Which button is fire/left right, etc. Moving the joystick, and pressing buttons randomly brought a Favorites screen. I can't find any docs here about how that works. I'm a bit frustrated at this point

I have read something about keymapping. I understand the concept, but no clue as how to properly do it. I have found how to setup keyboard buttons in MAME, but have not changed anything. I know the default keys for my X-Arcade controller, but I do not know what they should be controlling in HS and then down into a game.

Any sugestions out there, or maybe some links

Have a look in the HyperSpin folder and fire up HyperHQ. From there you can set the controls. That's the starting point at least [emoji4]. It sounds like you need to alter the keyboard controls from within HyperHQ to match with the keys the controller is sending.
