HyperSpin wont start game once lauched

I have just set up hyperspin

 

it is all working as it should but once i launch a game it goes all the way upto where it says press start to start

 

 

i have pressed the start button (s) and it doesnt do anything

 

i have also changed the start button to a different key and still nothing

 

 

please help
