Can I connect a device that give (x,y) coordinates of cursor on the screen as an input device

Hello anybody!

I have a device that I want to use like mouse in hyperspin application. But the problem is that it give (x,y) location on the screen, not (delta x, delta y). Can I use it anyway? or it is impossible for hyperspin? I'm just choosing an implementation for my idea, could you help me?
