reuse wheels, themes and other media

Hello, is it possible to reuse wheels in other system? For example, I have MAME with all its wheels, but now I'm creating a konami classics system and I don't want to copy all wheels to konami classics media folder. I could reuse the videos setting [video defaults] path= in the settings ini file. Is there a setting for reuse themes and wheels? thanks

i don't think it's possible... you have to copy them I believe (that's what I had to do) as far as I know I don't think you can share the wheel art and theme... the videos on the other hand you can do that because you have the option to choose any folder you want. again as far as I know you can't share the IMAGE folders other than copying the files you want.

If you use symbolic links in windows you can share the artwork and themes. You would link your Konami Classics themes and images folders to the Mame themes and images folders so that when HS looks in the KC folders it sees the stuff inside the Mame folders. I think there's a thread about it but since search is broken (at least for me) just google symbolic link windows and that should point you in the right direction.

 

that definitely seems like a cool way to do it... lets headaches instead of copying but I think I'd still just copy stuff to make it easier for me when it's time to back stuff up and move it to other systems. the art doesn't take up that much room in my opinion... it's the videos that take a chunk out of space...
