hyperspidey Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 Okay, here's what I'd like to do, and I'm not sure what tools, or combination of tools to use. So, my Mame roms, for example.. I have a boatload of roms, but my mame.xml only has the ones I want in it. Now, I'd like to filter out the genre xml files so that they only contain the games I have in my mame.xml How would I go about this?
hyperspidey Posted March 8, 2016 Author Posted March 8, 2016 Yep, just noticed that! Unfortunately I guess my genre data was super specific, so it's really broken down. i.e. Fighter - 2d Fighter - 2.5d Fighter - versus etc, etc.. Now I use the list merger to get back to the original genre names?
Avar Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 While I like agent47's suggestion better than the one I'm about to make, you can also just FatMatch/Tur-Match your wheel art into a new folder and move all of the wheels for the games you're not using into a backup folder. Then you'd move the wheels for the games you are using back into the normal location and set HyperHQ to "Wheels only" for that system. With this method you retain a 100% complete xml while, in practice, still only seeing the games you've opted to include in your setup.
hyperspidey Posted March 8, 2016 Author Posted March 8, 2016 Cool, I will take that approach if needed. I'm struggling to find the theme/wheel art for the genres?
hyperspidey Posted March 8, 2016 Author Posted March 8, 2016 Aaand I've actually now lost all my genre wheel art and themes? Just showing black screens and the standard wheel font. hrrmmm. What did I break? My genre's are named properly, i.e. Fighter, Maze, Puzzle, etc..
hyperspidey Posted March 8, 2016 Author Posted March 8, 2016 Ok, got my graphics back.. I forgot the "games" part of the titles. Fighter Games, Sports Games, etc..
Avar Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 Do you still need new genre wheels? I can upload what I have to the download section along with my 16:9 backgrounds
hyperspidey Posted March 9, 2016 Author Posted March 9, 2016 I got the originals back, is there an updated set of wheel images? I'm good on the backgrounds, replaced with my own
Avar Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 Not that I know of. I've had the same 16:9 wheel set for genre art for a long time now.
