Ouija Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 Hi everyone! I'm trying to get some clean romsets with cmpro, a bunch of no intro romsets and the DAT files provided on the hyperlist, everything goes like a charm when I use the Dats, but when I try to use the xlm files for rebuilding a romset the extension of the rom gets deleted and becomes unreadable for any emulator. Is it possible to have Dat files for all the systems plz? Or at least there's a way to modify the xlm and insert the rom extension for each node? Thanks in advance ;-)
Avar Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 Which specifically are you after? Also, I've seen what you're describing happen twice before. In both cases it was a result of "bad" roms and grabbing a fresh set fixed the issue. I know that may not be the answer you're looking for but I thought it would be good information to pass on. Just to confirm, you're losing the extensions when using Don's HyperSpin Tools' Rom Renamer?
Ouija Posted March 9, 2016 Author Posted March 9, 2016 thx, I was missing that tool because I'm used to clrMAME
Avar Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 It sounds to me like the Ouija was using clrMAMEPro to rebuild the sets using the xml databases and since the name attribute of the game element in the xml doesn't contain an extension it's naming the roms to the game name (no extension). Ouija, I would recommend using Don's Rom Renamer for any sets where dats aren't available. If the xml contains the CRC info it will match using that. You can also set it to fuzzy match if the CRC info is absent from the xml. You're right, of course. We saw the same thing last week I think and I got it backwards. Thanks.
