MAME and Xpadder issue

Hello.

 

I'm not sure if this is the right forum or not, I might try to post to the xpadder forums too, but I wanted to know if you ran into that issue first.

 

I've been using Xpadder with Hyperspin and Rocketlauncher for a while, and it works well with all the emulators I used. Even MAME. However, at some point in time I can't really define with precision, it stopped working with MAME.

 

The issue is that my joystick's buttons aren't caught by xpadder when mame is running. Or mame refuses to see these.

 

I suspected a RL issue first, but checked the loaded profiles, the commandline, everything looked okay. I then started MAME out of RL and HS and it didn't work : I for instance did bind the Player 1 insert coin to the key T on the keyboard : if I press it on the keyboard it works, if I push the button bound to it on my xpadder profile it doesn't work.

 

I've run out of ideas here and hence why I'm posting this : have any of you run into this kind of issue? 

 

I'm using the MAMEUIFX found on this site (thanks to the one who compiles it every release, by the way.)

My Xpadder version is 2015.01.01

After doing a bit more research it looks like it's related to direct input, but I cannot determine if I need a directinput version or a no directinput version ?

 

However, I did just download a mame64 version with raw input and another one with directinput and using either didn't seem to change a thing for my case.
