Hide clones

Is it possible to hide/Group clones/different sets?

Or is there a way to create a mame.xml without clones in it

I have the same question - but looks like there is no answer?

I like Hyperspin but it is so useless with mame because the list is too big. And i dont want to play 10 Clones of 1942 so if there is a way to get rid of them and only show one version if it - that would be extremely GREAT !

With MAMEFilter you could load the mame.xml file stripping all clones, then save it.

There's a sample template to load anly original games from a mame listxml file, apply the same filter to the hyperspin template and you are set!

Thanks for the hint, i tried that but failed, i think im just to dumb.

What is the exact way to get a hyperspin compatible xml file?

I did:

1. mame -listxml >mame.xml

2. opened mamefilter

3. selected mame:originals (MAME:6) as a load filter and the mame.xml i generated

4. clicked Load data -> result is 3910 Rows (7304 parsed)

Now I need the appropiate output template but the only two I have are "mame to mamewah" and "to move_roms batch file". The only way to get a hyperspin is I select hs8:all (HS:5) as a load filter!

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Update - as mentioned - just too dumb...

Using HyperHQ old version I can generate a hypersin compatible list with the intended filter.

Hope it works - will try in a few minutes *gg*

Gentlemen, there's more than 1 way to skin a cat. How about using Clrmamepro to merge your rom sets. Then you create the XML file, and there will be no set 1 / set 2, because Clrmamepro will have merged those sets into their parent sets.

I'm using Maximus Arcade since it supports this feature.

Alright I went ahead and added this feature for the next release. It works fine.

Cant you go into HyperHQ and click the Use parent clones button under mame settings. I think it will fix your problem. It will only pull 1 version of each game.

Another thing you can do is just display games with themes. So if 1 version of your game has a theme and the others dont it will pull that version in HS

I'm currently having a issue with the list loading. I think something in my theme/rom folders are not matching. Worth a try though

how bout opening hyperHQ,opening mame,opening navigation/themes tab and ticking parents only ,hope this sorts it for you,regards maxcade
