Joystick not working when exit emu and coin/

Hi all

 

I have just found hyperspin and what a great front end. I am using a Madcatz TE2 joystick to control it with RL and JoytoKey.

 

I have only neo geo set up at the moment to test.

 

I am using MAME as the emu.

 

Once I open hyperspin I can use the joystick to move, enter wheels and exit wheels and select a game. All great so far.

 

I can also exit the emu using a defined button. However when I do this no joystick commands no longer work.

 

secondly I have configured the buttons in mame itself for neo games. However the buttons I want for coin 1 and P1 start have to be manually edited for each new game in the tab option then this system menu.

 

can anyone help me configure these two point.
