Can HyperSpin Launcher be configured to convert to 8.3 file names

Been trying to figure out how to use Project64 2.2 (N64 emulator) with HS on Windows.

 

The emulator exe (call it p64.exe) takes a command line argument for the ROM.

 

p64.exe "%ROM"%

 

However, I have found that even with quotes, the emulator won't load the ROM unless it's the older style 8.3 format.

 

Is there a way to configure HS to convert the long file name to the 8.3 format?

 

If not, I suppose a batch file would work (echo %s1).
