HyperHQ Joysticks enabled for control, but not functioning.

So I have a odd problem. When I enable joysticks in HyperHQ they mostly dont work. I say mostly because strangely the start and exit buttons function correctly, which I have setup to be Button 1 and Button 7 respectively. But the up/down skip up/down skip number up/down do not work.

I have resolved this by using HS Startup script, which works great!

But unfortunately it does not play nice with MMC, which is a fantastic sub-menu hack that allows multiple sub-menu wheels within HS. So I would like to figure out why my joysticks are not functioning correctly when configured correctly in HyperHQ.

So lets begin by stating that all 4 of my joysticks function great in the emulators. When configuring mame, every single direction, every button all corresponds correctly and I can configure inputs and everything works perfect. So there is not any issue with windows/drivers/the joysticks or the hardware associated with the joysticks themselves.

To make this issue even more weird, when I enable Player 1 joystick to my actual far left player 1 joystick, I have it setup so that analog up/down is the up/down to scroll in the HS menu wheel. All the skipping, genre's, favorites are set to buttons, not directions. Exit it set to button 7.

Yet, when I set Player 1 to my JS 1, when I hit up or down, it skips up and down. To make this as weird as possible, if I close out HS, set player 1 to JS 2, JS3 or JS4, moving up/down on those 3 other joysticks does not cause skipping. Infact, it does nothing at all. I cannot control the menu from any of the joysticks. At the same time, the start and exit button work as they are supposed to. I can select my emulators, games, and exit/go back using the exit button as it should.

Considering the skip up/down and skip num up/down are set to buttons, and not directions, its very weird why HS thinks that my JS up and down are 'skip', and just as strange that the same exact config does not replicate that issue if I just switch the ID of player 1 to JS 2, JS 3 or JS4.

During all of this I can control everything fine with my keyboard arrow keys.

I really wish that HS Startup script would just work as it always has been with MMC, but if I wish for the impossible I'll be waiting forever. And since the MMC dev is not messing with the controls at all, I dont think that he will be able to troubleshoot the issue. And it appears the HS Startup script dev is long inactive, and has stated he will not help with support.

So you guys are my only hope :)
