russelnash86 Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 Hi, So i am updating to a new rig. I used to run hyperspin on my laptop basically as a trial run to teach myself how to get everything up and running. Now my rig is mostly put together (still waiting to buy graphics card). I have a 500g SSD and a 3tb mechanical drive. My question is will hyperspin benefit from being run from my SSD. My emulators will obviously be installed on my SSD and I keep my roms and video snaps on my 3tb. However my Hyperspin folder is quite large because of all the media on it (artwork, wheels etc...) So in short hyperspin on SSD or 3.5inch Russell
j5coat Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 Ssd for sure. My hyperspin PC is started in 10 seconds with hyperspin loaded its awesome. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
rastan Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 as for booting SSD and launching programs SSDs always kick ass.... I will admit that when doing basic stuff after the machine is booted or program is launched I don't really notice much of a difference but I guess that's kinda like some people can't tell the difference between FLAC and MP3.. so I'm sure even if I don't notice it... it's a difference
