Button Bindings Not Working for Vector Games in MAME

Let's use Asteroids Rev. 2 as an example:

 

Cocktail cabinet built with an X-Arcade type controller set-up.

The "[" key button is set-up as the insert coin in Mame.  

All my buttons on my cabinet have been assigned in the Default.cfg file to MAME so that, for example, "[" is insert coin 1.

All my non-vector games work great with my button assignments in hyperspin.

 

When I load a game like Asteroids in MAME directly, the "[" button works fine.

But when I load it through Hyperspin, the "[" button doesn't work at all.  So I went into TAB and looked at the insert coin key binding and re-assign it to my "[" button and it states it's "5"?  So I click it and hit my button that's supposed to be a "[" and it registers as an "X"?  Funny thing is, I have a USB keyboard plugged in at the same time and "5" works as insert coin.

 

This only happens on Vector games like Asteroids, Star Wars, etc.  And it only happens in Hyperspin -- not MAME directly.  Basically Vector based keyboard bindings are messed up and I don't know how to set them.  Is there a separate configuration for these types of games?  

 

NEVERMIND - PROBLEM SOLVED - DELETE VECTOR.INI and ASTEROID.CFG AND WORKS FINE.  GO FIGURE.
