so when i open mame and go to general inputs to try to change my controls, nothing comes up. is there a way to configure my controls via a text document or something along those lines?? i wanna change all my controls for all different emulators to standardize them.

edit : or can someone tell me the mame general input keys and i'll change the other emulators to follow mame.

If they are not showing up in MAME, then it won't help you to edit a text file. Start MAME with the verbose flag "mame64.exe -v" and see if the controllers/keyboards/whatever show up there. If they don't then you have a more serious issue. If they do, it means that they are probably not mapped correctly.

To reset the mappings, you can delete the default.cfg file from the cfg directory. Also make sure that in your mame.ini file, multikeyboard and multimouse are both set to 0 as that changes the mappings too.

In the future, you may want to look up creating a ctrlr file.
