Becksbolero2 Posted November 12, 2016 Posted November 12, 2016 Hi all, so here is the situation. My friend gave me his arcade cabinet due to him moving out of the country. Hyperspin was already installed and from what I can tell some of the games are already working. When I look at some of the more modern games though and try to load them I get an error message. saying that it could not find my dolphin.ini . Ive been reading on this forum that its recommended to build hyperspin from scratch rather than jump into it somewhere in the middle and I completely see now why that is, I am a complete novice when it comes to this kind of stuff. If any of you could help me, it would be greatly appreciated. Please feel free to explain things to me like I am a 10 year old. Better still a 5 year old. I attached a picture of the error message if that helps. Thank you guys so much
rastan Posted November 12, 2016 Posted November 12, 2016 Well with any hyperspin setup it's hard for anyone to know what's going on under the hood... but the best advice is always try running the emulator outside of hyperspin first to see if it actually works. have you tried running dolphin outside of hyperspin? have you checked to see if the .ini is actually there? perhaps dolphin was never setup prior to your friend giving you the cab. there are just way too many things we don't know.. but if you can run dolphin outside of hyperspin... then we can figure out what's going on.
Guest Posted November 12, 2016 Posted November 12, 2016 The fix is in the screenshot - your missing the config ini file for dolphin. Try running dolphin on its own to make sure the ini is created. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
cleverest Posted November 17, 2016 Posted November 17, 2016 The problem is; by default dolphin.ini is created in the C:\USERS\<His account name>\Documents\Dolphin Emulator\Config\ folder and you don't have access to it. Just reinstall Dolphin as suggested above, that should fix it. - Brett
Becksbolero2 Posted November 17, 2016 Author Posted November 17, 2016 Thanks guy, that worked perfectly! I just ran dolphin outside of Hyperspin. Went back inside and all of those systems started working. I appreciate your help. I'll probably have more questions soon as I dive into Hyperspin further.
