What is the best way to convert a .txt list of roms to xml database for hyperspin?

trying to remember if don's tools has something for that but can't remember but if you have the roms in a folder.. why not just build a database from the folder?

I am trying to organize a wheel for MAME .180, i have entire romset but dont want all 30,000 files on the wheel. I do not want to delete any files yet as im still in the process of understanding mame rom builds and dont want to remove any needed bios or other files used to play the roms i want to keep. Dons tools have been a great help, but wont convert txt files. I am also having trouble understanding how to extract info from mame for dons tools. no idea what catver.ini is. My "solution" was to add what games i wanted to my favorites and rename the favorites.xml file, but noticed it is just a txt file. While browsing the forums after this post, i found what i was looking for, its an application named "Favorites to HyperSpin XML game list converter" and works wonderfully for what i need. Just wish I was comfortable with an easier way to split them up!  Thanks for your response.

I did something like this for my mame setup as I have muliple mame wheels.. one wheel I just wanted all the games I remembered from the arcades.. so what I did was create a new system called Penny Arcade and basically added all the games I wanted on that wheel to my mame favorites and just went into the settings for mame and set that system to start on favorites = true.. so every time I goto that wheel it just starts on the favorites.

perhaps that can be a solution for you? or hopefully someone knows a tool that can add txt to a xml database... other than manually doing it yourself with a text editor like notepad or something.
