Avar Posted April 26, 2017 Posted April 26, 2017 I made a quick post on this in the Bliss-Box thread but it's a major enough breakthrough it deserves its own thread as well. We got Bliss-Box working perfectly with all dance pads. This is a huge, huuuge deal akin to getting light guns to work again because until now, no one's been able to do it! The only adapters that could remotely do this were super crappy, couldn't handle the required inputs, required you to install windows drivers, also required the user to input specific button combos to turn it on, and they'd break frequently. Conversely, as of the latest Bliss-Box firmware release, all you have to do to use any dance pad with any emulator on any operationg system is to plug it in and go. It's like you're playing on the actual system... only better because of the other Bliss-Box features. I can't express with words alone how freaking hyped I am that this is working so perfectly. From a user/consumer perspective, this is a breath of fresh air because reading through adapter compatibility lists on dance game forums/wikis is like cancer because it's a wall of busted adapters and user complaints. From a tester perspective, this solution is really exciting in how subtle and effective it is. I love everything about this latest firmware release. If anyone's got any interest in dance pads this is a really great time to grab a 4-play. Flashback LTD is currently doing a market test to see if they want to full-time retail Bliss-Box's products. They bought 5 units to test sales before they make their final decision. If anyone's been on the fense about it, buying now from Flashback LTD would be of tremendous help to the future of Bliss-Box development. https://www.flashbackltd.com/products/4-play-universal-controller-adapter-to-pc-mac-android Once resellers pick it up full-time, development can shift back to creating new hardware and achieving the ultimate goal of 100% flawlessly adapting every peripheral in existence.
xtwistedsanityx Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 Sorry for only just noticing and replying to a sort of old thread, but that's awesome news, I haven't been following the updates recently as my cab has been offline for some major updates. I just shot over to the site, updated with 1.56.1 and will have a play later once the sprogs are asleep. Also noticed the 2.0 api, wow this should open up some more options for a few. I can't believe how good the 4play is! I tried to buy it during the initial funding and ended up going direct asap after for obvious reasons. I still can't believe how more people haven't jumped on and bought one (or why it hasn't gone more mainstream, maybe it will now with the PI compatibility) but, its the device that keeps giving. One of the few devices I would suggest retro console gaming fans get, to truly experience the games as they were originally intended to be. (ps hope you don't mind I stole the blissbox link to put in my sig) HyperGrade 97%
