jamison Posted May 16, 2017 Posted May 16, 2017 I have recently downloaded hyperspin and rocket launcher and followed several youtube videos to make sure everything is set up properly. When I load HyperSpin and select a ROM I wont to play it does nothing. The Start menu goes away for a second and that's it. I've lauched the games in the rom separately, test ran them in RocketLauncherUI with no problems. All the games have been audited and renamed properly. I've spent days trying to figure this out and I am officially stuck. Any suggestions/help would be amazing! I have attached my log from HyperSpin for someone smarter than me to locate the problem log.txt
Avar Posted May 16, 2017 Posted May 16, 2017 Can't find HyperLaunch, defaulting to root HyperLaunch.exe 12:11:04 AM | Launcher located at F:\HyperSpin\HyperLaunch.exe Your HyperSpin isn't talking to RocketLauncher as its path isn't set. You have to set your RocketLauncher path in :\HyperSpin\Settings\Settings.ini Try to stick to the Official Tutorial Videos or Written Tutorials on here if you can help it. Other tutorials out there have some major issues. I'm still making episodes for the tutorial series but there's enough there to get you going pretty well.
jamison Posted May 16, 2017 Author Posted May 16, 2017 https://imgur.com/a/mGsaN I thought I did, is this not correct? Sorry if I formatted the link wrong, not sure how to upload picture of my desktop on here
Avar Posted May 16, 2017 Posted May 16, 2017 Close. Gotta set the full path. So change it to F:\RocketLauncher\RocketLauncher.exe and you should be good to go. One other tip to make your life easier down the road: You're prolly gonna wanna unhide your Windows extensions. Will wanna know what a lot of files are at a glance. Def recommend watching the Official Videos in the link I posted above from the start to ensure you're getting a 100% clean foundation for your build. Big motivation behind their creation was the number of support threads from people watching other videos so might save you a headache down the road if there are any similar issues.
jamison Posted May 17, 2017 Author Posted May 17, 2017 I've watched the videos, and they definitely helped. I renamed the path but I'm unfortunately having the same problem. Avar Posted May 17, 2017 Posted May 17, 2017 Ok thanks again for posting the log. We've fixed one issue in that the path is now detecting correctly. Still seems to me like HyperSpin and RL aren't talking though or you'd be getting RL alert popups on failed launch. Is HyperSpin set as you default and active frontend in RLUI?
jamison Posted May 17, 2017 Author Posted May 17, 2017 OK, looks like I finally found a fix. I just installed and set up retroarch and made it my default rom player. Worked like a charm! Maybe I somehow messed up the nestopia set up, or it just doesn't like my computer for some reason. Thank you so much for your help!!!
Avar Posted May 17, 2017 Posted May 17, 2017 Weird. But Nestopia worked via RLUI right? If you're happy with RA that's good but if you want Nestopia lemme know and we'll figure it out^^ Either way, glad you're up and running.
