Possible to use index / jump points in Main Menu?

I am wondering if its even possible to use index/jump points in the main menu like it is inside a system's menu. I tried copying the letter image folder to the Images folder of Main Menu, and updated my main menu xml like the following, but it doesn't work:

Ultimately, what I want to do is setup 5 jump points in my Main Menu (re-using A,B,C,D,E letters), but instead showing the system type instead of the letter A B C D E. So I would have Consoles, Handhelds, Arcade, Computers, and Media. I have the entries in the Main Menu grouped like this, and scrolling all the way from Consoles to Arcade takes forever with 160+ systems in the Wheel.
