No option to upload images for thumbnail pic in uploads

I need some help!  I've been trying to update some of my themes and have noticed when uploading, there is a button/area for dragging the zip files, but no button/area for uploading thumbnail images for the file.  See these links: 

The only way I could upload a new image was to attach the file in the "what's new" area.  Please let me know if there is a fix.   Thanks in advance
