wderbi Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 Hello all. I am having a problem that I am having a difficult time solving. After successfully setting up the PS2 shooters, I am now trying to setup PS1 shooters on my system with Aimtraks. I am using ePSXe 2.05 as an alternative emulator on my system for a few games and I am planning to use it for the shooters. Using Time Crisis for PSX as my test game, I was able to add the Nuvee Plugin for the "Input" plugin and I am using Pete's OpenGL2 Driver 2.9 for the "video" plugin. If I launch the game in ePSXe 2.05 outside of Rocketlauncher (RL), everything works fine...It goes to the calibration screen, I am able to get the calibration accurate, and I can play the shooter (Time Crisis) very well with no problems. However, I have no success in RL. I am running Xebra as the primary emulator for the Playstation 1 system. I set up Time Crisis using ePSXe as an alternative emulator, then went into the "Edit global module settings" tab, clicked on the "Rom Settings" tab and added Time Crisis. Under the "settings", I first selected Pete's OpenGL2 core 2.0.0. as the video plugin, and selected [SLEH-007] Namco G-con45/Digital as GamepadType for player 1 and 2. I left all GPU plugin options as default, and launched the game. The game reached the Guncon calibration screen as it did when running the emulator alone; however, the cursor was completely absent. If I pulled the trigger, I can hear the gun firing and see the screen flash, but the cursor is nowhere to be found. I kept aiming at the target and even moving left right up or down, but could not launch the game. Under the main settings for the PS1 system, I selected "false" for the 'Hide Cursor' option (changed from default), but that did not change anything. I went back to the ROM settings tab in the "Edit Global Module settings" menu and then selected ePXSe GPU core 2.0.0. as the video plugin. This time when I launched the game, I saw the cursor flickering all over the calibration screen, but I could not control it's movements. If I pointed the lightgun offscreen, the cursor would come to rest at a random spot, but pointing the gun back at the screen caused the random flickering all over again. Just to be sure, I relaunched the emulator outside of RL, and it worked fine. I shut down the computer, and repeated the test. Unfortunately, nothing changed. What am I missing? Is there a bug in RL that is causing this??? Thanks in advanced! PS>I posted this on RL forum as well...
wderbi Posted July 7, 2017 Author Posted July 7, 2017 Just an update: I still could not get the cursor to show up in RL using ePSXe, so I am still seeking an answer on what the problem could be. In the meantime, I changed the alternative emulator to PCSXR, which I may resort to using for the Aimtrak shooters because the cursor does work well. The only issue that I have so far with Time Crisis is that the cursor just shows up like a busy mouse pointer (circling constantly). If I was to go into the main settings for RL and select "true" for the hide cursor, PCSXR will show a small circular mouse pointer that seems to work well. I just which I could change the color to something easier to see!
