Game not loading properly through Hyperspin, works in MAME

Hello,

I think my last post got deleted for some reason so I'll try again. I have a game that loads perfectly in MAME .188 out of HS/RL but when launching in HS it gets up to the insert coin splash screen and then goes black after pressing the P1 start button. Are there any settings I can adjust to see if this works? I would have thought that running in HS or using the standalone MAME.188 wouldn't make any difference. Thanks.
