The HyperSpin 2 beta is here!

We’re starting the first public testing phase with Platinum Members to keep the scope manageable while we test the current feature set and begin to add more. In the future, we’ll provide a version for basic members as well.  On behalf of the entire HyperSpin team, we look forward to another exciting adventure with our community.

So I just recently decided to look into emulation again now that I see there are usable model 2 and model 3 emulators that appear to be close to perfect (better than any ports so far at least). I pretty much have always used snes9x, Gens, and Mame .64 on my PC and retrosnes on the android along with mame4droid. These all work wonderfully especially the more powerful my processors have become over the years. I focus on fighting games and shooters mostly (KI2, MKII, things like that).

However, I have toyed around with getting more roms working (maybe 100 working on my MAME PC right now) as well as MVC2 and the like (though I probably need a NAOMI emulator for that? I haven't been able to upgrade my MAME any more because apparently the ROMS all have to be upgraded as well to move any further. I can't even remember how I did it the first time so I am not looking forward to doing this again (especially the CHD files which were SOOOO hard to find for KI2 and I could never get to work for NFL Blitz).

Anyway, I am hoping to find guidance here in the forums, especially when it comes time to redo all my ROMS and CHD's and which emulators are the best (not just the most accurate necessarily but least problematic). Basically where to find and download safely even if it means paying a subscription or fee etc.

Also, am interested in having multiple AV output options so I can connect HDMI for things like model 3 but connect to a CRT television for more traditional games like Samurai Shodown, MKII, KI2, etc.

Planning on using my ROG G73 for now since my son moved all his Steam Games to the 980TI Strix desktop now. Will be getting rid of all the unnecessary programs on that so it can be dedicated to this project.

If anyone can point me at some good places to start I would appreciate it.

Probably should put that on a big red flag when someone signs up before they go through the process. Seeing as that is probably the number one thing people have trouble with and want help with. Link to the rules? I actually looked for a rules link expecting to see it near the top of the forums when I first came here but saw nothing.

Thanks for the warning anyway but seriously a link directly to the rules for newcomers would be very  helpful. I have follow up questions but I assume they would probably be addressed in a rules thread once I can find it
