control setup

Hi, I am new to Hyperspin and just got a used 2 player system. I went into Intellivision and picked Night Stalker to play. The joystick moves the player fine but I don't think the buttons are set up to fire the weapon. How do I go in and customize the controls for a particular game. Thanks!
