Odd button combo incorrectly exiting games

On my arcade cabinet, I don’t have enough buttons for exiting games so I have a button combination set. 

When I press 1 and X at the same time, my mame game exits and I’m returned to the Hyperspin wheel, just as I expected. 

Strangely, though, when I press 1 and 2 at the same time, I’m also kicked from the game and sent back to the Hyperspin wheel. Where could this setting be coming from?

It’s really annoying because 1 and 2 are my player 1 and 2 start buttons so it’s really easy to hit them both at the same time in-game. 

It’s worth noting that if I open mame directly from Windows, it works as expected  I only have the problem when using HyperLauncher.

Any help would be appreciated!

EDIT:

I also noticed that it works to exit Hyperspin completely as well. How do I change this?
