The HyperSpin 2 early access beta is here!

We’re starting the first public testing phase with Platinum Members to keep the scope manageable while we test the current feature set and begin to add more. In the future, we’ll provide a version for basic members as well.  On behalf of the entire HyperSpin team, we look forward to another exciting adventure with our community.

Hyperspin gradually slows down and increased random controller input.

Hey!

So I finally got my cabinet up and running this weekend and been enjoying it a lot. I am very much a noob on all this and have been using guides to get it all set up. Everything seems to be running great except for one thing that has happened once so far.

So me and my brother had been playing a couple games in a row, I would say we had been at it for about 3 hours. We were playing that Sailor Moon Beat em up when we started to notice what seemed like random controller inputs. As we progressed it happened more and more often and with longer randomness before we got the control back of the character. We kept going since it was so close to the end and we thought it might be just that game. So after beating it we jumped back into Hyperspin and it was suuuuuper slow (scrolling the wheel, animating the themes and such). So just to check we started another game (Sunset Riders) and that game also had the random inputs right from the start. The games were not lagging or slow as Hyperspin were, just had these weird inputs. So we decided to restart Hyperspin (not the computer) and it was running great again and no random inputs on Sunset or any of the other games we played for another hour or so.

So I checked around a bit on this and other forums and a found a few comments about Hyperspin eating quite a lot of CPU and that cause some users to experience inputs in games to be repeated and stacked on each other, which could explain what we experienced even though it felt more random that just repeated.

I have a rig with Intel Core i5, 16GB of ram and a GK ASUS DUAL-GTX1060 6GB graphics card, is that enough to handle HS and MAME?

I use an IPAC2 for controller input.

I can live with restarting Hyperspin once in a while but I still wanted to reach out here and see if anyone has any idea what might cause this problem and if it can be fixed!

Very grateful for any help!

thanks // Dennis
