no defined exe file

Just picked up a Mame cabinet from a person .  Its running ona  dell with windows XP.  SAid he was trying to make blue tooth wireless XBOX controlers work on it and then he started havin problems..  Seems like eveer game undder the CLASSIC catagories works fine.  ALL games under MAME have a file path issue. What is my first or best course of action to fixing this.  Do i reinstall Hyperspin  If so will i lose all my Roms. ALL 6000.  Or is there a possible update i can run that may patch up issue?  Please help.  I built retro Pies  but this is something i do not wantt o risk messing up
